Specially-trained TSA behaviour-detection officers are being deployed at US airports to watch passengers facial experssions for clues of terrorist intent. So, try not to hold your mouth in a way that suggests terrorist intent, or you might find yourself 'enjoying' a holiday in Cuba - Streaky

The Americans once has a problem with terrorists hi-jacking planes to Cuba, now they fly them there directly - S

Ah kiss goodbye to another one of lifes little pleasures. I used to really enjoy skulking through customs with a murderous grin and beetled brows

Shame they didn't train specialists to spot the knives clipped to the 9-11 terrorists' belts

If it wasn't for the fact that my Mother lives there, I'd simply never go to the USA ever again. Especially after reading this;

http://www.boingboing.net/2007/12/16/icelandic-tou...

About time we started doing cavity searches of all American citizens visiting the UK.

I tend to agree, following several trips to the US where I have found the whole process of arrival tiresome and intrusive at the best I have made a concious decision to avoid the country in general and LAX at all costs. It did bring a smile to my face when I saw a "Holiday in America" advert on the TV the other day, tourism suffering well bugger me sideways I wonder why that is?

I went with my wife and 9-year-old daughter to NYC in October. From previous business trips I was dreading immigration, but everyone was polite (even friendly) and efficient and it was over in minutes. Yes of course we were fingerprinted and photographed, but when my daughter offered her teddy to the camera it provoked nothing but smiles.

I do know that I'd rather arrive at JFK than Stansted. Why is it that coming back to UK you get the feeling that every contract's been awarded on price rather than value? "Down-to-a-price Britain" is the message you get when you arrive in UK now.

Too true arrive back in the UK from anywhere and the airport you left from will have felt more friendly and more cared for,

or Spain, where I got shoved through the metal detectors by a customs officer (presumably) with a handgun. As a then 12 year old too.

Talk about a warm welcome.

Oh, there was nothing wrong with officialdom at Delhi. In fact, the security, immigration and customs people were unfailingly polite. It's just that the airport is an enormous shithole.

Can anyone advise what kinds of expressions suicide bombers have on thier faces just before they board a plane and pull the pin? Do they stroll into checkout mumbling "I mustn't forget the bomb, I mustn't forget the bomb..." or something?

I think we should be told...

think delhi would be excellent compared to the "airport" at AL-Khobar in saudi, or very near that town, lots of male customs agents insisiting on a personal search, never got one, just spent hours going thru the luggage, eg some CD with strawberries on it, reasoning went girls like strawberries so it must be girls, admittedly it was shrink wrapped and the fliers did have naked women on it, but that was a nice surprise in sandland smile

Delhi airport is a luxury full-service lounge in the most exclusive resort in the world, compared to the festering heap of infected, parasite-ridden shite that is Douala airport in the Cameroon. My favourite moment there was being forced to take my shoes and socks off in case I had something hidden in them, then the guy behind me was waved through the metal detector with all his bags on a trolley.

Mind you, Paris Charles de Gaulle is worse.
