Whats with the torrent of vitriol? It is pretty easy to stay within the speed limit and so avoid having to worry about getting a fine and points. If you want to blast about the place, the positions of all the fixed cameras are published and you have eyes to see mobiles and pandas - you only have to pay attention.

"I was caught a few years ago by mobile-laser-plod at 480m distance. I was unable to spot a bloke with a tripod half a kilometer away whilst dealing with normal A-road driving hazards at 99mph, even on a straight road in good conditions. So now I drive more slowly." - exactly, on the occasions that you are caught out take it on the chin like a man and stop whinging.
How'd you get in?!

I live in Brunstroms zone and when I first moved up here I was caught speeding within 6 months.

Six years later I haven't been caught again touch wood. You learn to know their likely spots, but the horse box idea does seem a bit below the belt to me.

Whoever said they wont know come to Snowdonia because of the cameras is being a bit short sighted and missing out. But hey, keeps the mountains and roads quieter for me.

I love North Wales. Some of the most beautiful scenary ive seen anywhere and some great roads. But the Chief Counstables stance on road policing is beyond a joke...

best use of that would be to fill it with the people who man the speed traps and push it off a very high cliff somewhere in Wales

Why not stick a camera up a horse's arse as well and have it standing by the road. What will we have next caravans bristling with cameras.

Got to get rid of this goverment !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And this is where the "Safety camera" idea ends and "revenue building" begins
Excuse me but there was never any safety content in speed cameras. I think it was a money spinner right from the start.

Problem is the revenue is being squeezed by people spotting the cameras and vans and SLOWING DOWN. And that's the last thing they want!

SM
you got it...this was always going to happennow they got to spend their own money to keep the cameras rolling

Are the windows on horse boxes big enough to throw a wasp's nest through? Failing that, are the rooves flat enough for a Brainiac-style thermite experiment? biggrin

It's not the government ruling this country it's the police. Hence why it feels like a police state??

They should be totaly disgraced with what they are doing to this country's people.

This is just another form of "secondary tax" and just one more reason why so many indiginous people are leaving this country in droves. I cant wait to get back to Spain.

Typical Head-Loo..........

Nothing better to do than catch teenagers smoking weed on the beach and doing speeding drivers.

Someone should chuck some sheep in there to keep them amused instead of taking pictures of us and giving us points for doing 68 in a 60.....we don't all drive 1986 Austin Metro's on drum brakes and hydrolastic suspension you know?

Anyway, how many empty horseboxes do you see sitting randomly by the road or in a field?

Are they going to have the camera lens sticking out of the ring-piece of a plastic horses backside?

All we need to do is slow down when we see a randon horse box, in addition to the white 'safety' scamera van already on the list. Also, my Road Angel will tell me where they are going to possibly be.

Finally, this has got to be a wind-up.

you'd think that Wales was an ideal place to live, to visit, to enjoy, I mean, after all, they've solved all those nasty problems with everything else and have so much ecconomic stability that they can focus on pointless crimes, like smoking weed on a beach, doing 70 in a 60 and all that.

No.

Wales, to be blunt, is fked. The only crime here is that a lovely place to live or to visit is being ruined by a small group of s

Bloody hell, all you need is a machine gun on top of that thing and you have a skinny dalek!
