C6 Vette nicer looking car than new F-Type Jag?

That new Jag is fit!
there will be loads of them around soon, one of the main reasons I love my 'vette is there's not to many people who (are daft enough to) buy them.
Hmmm, let us take stock for a moment. By the time you have ordered a proper one you're going to be talking £70k?! It's in a dangerous position against Porsche for 991 and not an established player, unless it summarily robs all of Jaguar's XK convertible customers which would be a bit of an old goal surely?! It looks pants with the roof up, the back is utter toss and the front is hardly iconic. Sure, it will sell but I dot think its going to change the motoring horizon of the UK. I guess I am disappointed by all the hype particularly at FoS. It'll date quick, not a future classic......there will be loads of them around soon, one of the main reasons I love my 'vette is there's not to many people who (are daft enough to) buy them.
I have to disagree there Mitch. Jaguar are looking at a younger customer base with this model. They are moving away from the old dyed in the wool iconic looks of cars in the past.( something that has always them from capturing younger customers in the past) I can honestly say its the first car i have ever clapped eyes on that has looked good from every angle. I know at some point i would love to own one. Would it take me away from a Vette completely?? I doubt it. As good as the Jag will be including the one to have RS. It wont offer rarity and low maintaince costs.
Hmmm.. well its not in the same league as an E-Type for real breath taking beauty but I think it looks pretty cool? But there again I think the XK8 looks good and the XJR and the and the and the.
Just check out the age of the driver when you next pass an XK8 though. This F-Type will have to go some to drag the age down.
Oh and of course the NSX looks like the C6. They're bofe red ain't they?

I suggest you go to spec savers.
Mid engined / front engined
Popup lights / fixed lights
All black roof / painted roof
Rear ducts / front duct
Low square rear end / relatively high curved rear end
I could go on but really can't be asked.
They do have one thing in common over the jag though............ Reliability.
They're both red? Apart from that, struggling.Mid engined / front engined

I am 28 and had the rare and unusual privilege of owning my first Z06 when I was 22, so I can safely say I am not the typical demographic of a Corvette owner. Problem is I don know many people under 40 who have the wherewithal to spend £70k on cars right now so where are they going to find this younger audience?Still think the rear is dreadful and totally disconnected to the front. I am struggling with new designs at the moment though as all I see on the new Range Rover are pointless/naff details like fake door vents and grills in front bumper....
As nice as the 'F' type may or may not be - imho it's a reason to bring in to the market another model with an arguably lower spec' alongside the current model at a similar price (and looking at performance figures alone - why actually bother with the V8 version?) - the car will must more profit for them if customers are prepared to pay the same (or more) for this - it will potentially expand their market segment - and bring in a younger customer base. Clever marketing if it works. Didn't do Porsche any harm ultimately introducing the Boxter and then the Cayman. Can we now expect a bloated luxury Cayenne competitor? - IMHO it will now make alternatives (like UK sourced Vettes) actually seem a reasonable price.

We need to see that C7!
I imagine Mitch's main interest is the £80,000 price of the 490 bhp V8 Jag and its 1,665 kg weight.
Yes, we definitely need to see that C7. Smaller, lighter, cheaper, better?
6.2 C6 weights 1450 kg. I think it is already sure that new will be even lighter with smaller engine etc. I just would like vette to get a dual clutch transmission opposed to normal slow manual. The ZF 8-speed of f-type actually looks adequate in videos but it is still no match for DCT.I imagine Mitch's main interest is the £80,000 price of the 490 bhp V8 Jag and its 1,665 kg weight.

I think V6 S will likely be the model to buy of f-type. I like sound of that more and performance should be ok. CO2 of V8(affects tax here) is not that bad but price difference will likely be still big.
As well as Corvettes I have also owned 2 Jags and personally do like 'em. However I always think of Jaguars as a pleasurable nice car to drive rather than a performance car. I think they just make great luxury cars that look good,
Back on topic well a car's looks will always be subjective so I don't know why this thread has gone on so long...

Automatic transmission is very likely the same one as on Lexus ISF. It is ok box.
