Thats a pretty hefty spec cam mate. More for hardcore NA. 13* overlap.
Are you sure its suited to the blower?

Id have thought less intake duration and maybe a tad wider on the LSA for the PD?

Very nice work though!
Looking forward to the results. Looks like it will be pretty high compression?

Baz cheers bud , i know you love tools and a tinker biggrin

Ringram , well thats what i thought mate ,gave my guy almost the numbers you mentioned early on in this thread , he had a word with the tech at comp and they sent this .

Not sure you need much overlap with a blower ? . Does boost go straight out the exhaust ?

Getting a cam has been a bit of a b , wasn`t in the first shipment of parts , stalled the whole thing for months ,so maybe they then rushed the thing and got me what they had available .

Check this out bud , did read somewhere a pd blower can get away with a slightly larger cam ,but $hit what do i know bud biggrin

http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/cam-specs/Detai...

Comp ratio , kin thing biggrin kinda went in the middle of low verses high ,faik should be aprox 9.6 :1 with those pistons and 64 cc chambers, gaskets .

PS this is slightly larger cu in than stock and with the TVS2300 in mind with as much boost as i can get away with, not the mp112 incase i may be confusing you lol.

Cheers for the input / help mate.

Be interesting to see what you think once its done...

Probably good high rpm power. Lumpy idle, might be interesting to tune and you might have issues near and off idle in traffic etc.
No doubt it will haul with the RPM. But Id be surprised if you think its a great daily driver cam.

But the proof is in the pudding. I can see they offer 2 roots cams, that is the smaller of the 2..

That being said the TVS has almost too much low down torque so that cam should bleed it off somewhat.

Im keen to see the dyno sheet once done and hear your thoughts on it.

Well if it`s as fast as your reply i`ll be happy biggrin

Can`t say i need it to be interesting to tune lol , and probably never gonna be a daily , also like lopey but maybe not lumpy .

Yeah reckon that was the thinking ref tq of the tvs low down .

Think i will ponder this one while the motor is out and easier to sort . One thing i like about modern cars, mod them and they still drive near stock until you want some fun

unlike twin 40`s etc on a pinto . biggrin

Ringram thanks mate , also got stevie on the case .

Fwiw got this reply from brian tooley ,seems well respected over on vette forum .

I think you were totally correct ,and reckon you have saved me a lot of aggro mate. Would like to hear your take on that stage 3 cam , they also do 1 and 2 ??

Oh and the cam in question is now out , and back in its box lol
cheers bud.

email from BTR

Hello Dave,

I have to be honest, I can not believe how big that cam is! It's HUGE for a positive displacement supercharger. I honestly can't believe Comp offers a cam that is that far off the norm.

Too much overlap will definitely cause loss of top end power, and that cam has a TON of overlap.

I just had a ZR1 customer set the record today running 9.30 @ 151 and he has my Stg III cam which has 0 degrees of overlap. http://www.briantooleyracing.com/positive-displace...

The shipping for one cam is $60 to the UK.

I have the cams in stock for immediate shipping if you want one.

Thanks,
Brian

Hi mate biggrin

It is still with the tuner , hope to get it back by this weekend .

Making 15lbs of boost , has loads of fuel and been told it`s fast and very loud lol.

It`s a road tune but will dyno it at some point , will try and get a vid ,does sound pretty good .

Kinda got near the end of install and thought I would just get it finished and then update this thread.

Bear with me bud biggrin

WOW that is a work of art, would be a shame to fill it with oil and start it.
Are you polishing those parts somehow or are they new polished ones??

Dave.

Hi Dave. Just come across this thread yesterday and I'm suitably impressed, always was with your dedication and attention to detail. Been out of the US car scheme for a few years now and this thread does conjure up memories and I'm sorely tempted to go back to a 'Vette of some sort. I turned all Japanese after the Viper and the Z06 were sold and more recently been a bit Germanic with a touch of classic British thrown in.

This thread is inspirational and renewed my interest in the US scene. You never know I might yet see you at Wheels Day next year! smile

Good luck with the project its on the home straight and I'm loving it as an onlooker so I can imagine the pride you must feel in this achievement. Well done you! clap

Hey mate , thank you very much for the kind words .

I do remember it was you who inspired me into getting an SRT-10 Viper , another car I wish I could have kept along with the silver KB ZO6,all about space and money + the lure of something different.

It took me around 5 years to get my silver ZO6 how I wanted it , think I am trying to get this white ZO6 done in two ,so think I will just slow down and drive it , do a bit as and when lol.

The sound this thing makes is almost as entertaining as my black car biggrin

Check out the classifieds , not many C5 ZO6`S about but they are great value , as you know .

Cheers mate , pop in here any time bud .
