Despite the latest front page article on tuning cars being a waste of money......I'm planning on upgrading my standard exhaust system on my '07 C6 (headers, x-pipe and exhaust). Going for the Billy Boat system end-to-end, finishing with the Fusion (w/ vacuum kit) as seems one of the best all-rounders and a great sound on the vids I've seen.

The questions for you guys are...
- those that have sourced aftermarket exhaust systems before, have you bought direct off the internet (e.g. Ecklers) or used a UK garage to source and fit. If sourced direct, who would you recommend?
- where would you recommend getting the items fitted? I'm only about 2 miles from Ian Goss in Surbiton, Surrey and been v. pleased so far going there for almost 4 years for general servicing etc. so seems an obvious choice.

Also, those that have fitted new exhaust systems.....what's the impact been like on your insurance premium?! Remember reading one member who suggested to the insurance company the new system had increased his fuel efficiency and the premium dropped as a result.....?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Ask Keith at Eurovettes for a price. He brings in items from Ecklers & Mid America. Surely Ian could fit it for you? If not, bet he knows a man who can.

If you look on ebay, American Dreams in Gloucester has a used BB Fusion (built June 2011) system now for £550.

Thanks for the pointers. Agree Ian would easily be able to do it, and they've taken great care of my car to date.

Will check out that eBay listing. Looks like a keen price if it's in good condition.

i told my insurance company about mine, as its a full system and custom build, and also put some Grand Sport wheels on it went up about £60/ 70 a year from memory... as we know better to tell them as any issues and the 'get out of paying you clause kickes in'
funny they also tried to increase due to putting a private plate on as well!! until I pointed out they were having a laugh and need to have a word with themselves and stop being theiving ****s

Similar to what I found out yesterday. With Admiral it only increased by about £50 when I did a quick comparison online, which isn't too bad for what's being put on. We'll see when I give them a ring once it's been completed!! Love that they tried to sting for personal plates as well - at least they backed down.
