Hi

I don't normally post on forums but noticed this so i thought i would reply

I'm on my second Z06 on here's what i've had done....

Cam / bronze guides / stainless steel valves / intake / headers (no cats) / ported intake / colder plugs / AST clutch (850ft/lb limit) - car made approx 625bhp / 600 ft/lbs - this is a fairly large cam

Was fine for about 30k miles but recently spun a bearing. Thankfully it didn't put a hole in the block so now we are doing:

1) Manley Racing Forged oversized Pistons / Rods / Beams etc
2) Bigger forged crank - will be LS7 stroker displacement of 7.4l approx
3) New lethal racing custom cam
4) new oil pump and related ancillaries

Hopefully will make 700hp at the crank. Work being done by Craig at DynoTorque in Birmingham.

Unfortunately you won't get a real 700bhp from an LS7 with those changes. You will need to do much more on induction side.

I had a Peter Knight spec engine on individual Kinslers, all steel internals, stroked etc - the full works and that only made 696bhp and that was the limit on the heads.

Great to hear I am not the only person in the UK modifying a Z06! Any idea why the bearing spun?

Are you using a larger throttle body (102mm)? If so who did you use to map the car after fitting it? I am having a few issues with a hanging throttle having installed one hence the question.

They look amazing! Does the seatbelt light show on the dash? How much to install something similar?

With regards to larger throttle body - no I have the standard throttle body

The seats are about £1k for the pair. You then need the floor mounting kit which is around $700 and side mounts for the seats at £60 each, and sliding seat rails at £80 per seat. There are airbag sensors that have to be blanked off at around $80 for a pair and you then need to remove the old seats electrical harness and attach it to the bottom of the new seats so that things like the electric steering column will still work and none of the lights come on the dash.

These are the mounts http://www.bkauto.com/R_9144_Seat_Mount_Kit_p/r-91...

GSM seats were great. They also sell the recaro side mounts and sliding rails. http://www.sportseats4u.co.uk/recaro-pole-position...

These are the airbag parts. http://www.vetteworksonline.net/catalog/product_in...

The passenger seat has a rubber bag built into it to detect the if a passenger is present. To stop the light coming on the dash you simply roll this up and zip tie it so it is unable to expand.

The difference is amazing.

Thats because the ECU still thinks the throttle is a 90mm one so the blade angle is too much for the 102 and lets too much air through...

Ah that was your Z06 I saw in the air there. 4.125 crank wont make it 454 you need 4.185 bore for that.
Melling's oil pumps work better than OEM, which apparently start leaking oil out the seams over 6500rpm.

What spec on the new cam? You really shouldn't go too large as the intake is designed for peak torque at 4800 rpm.

Yes it's been a while unfortunately! Cam specs 234/650 250/650 113+4 - hopefully this will be a better drive than the current one which was very very choppy
