Can anyone recommend a tuner for a newly built custom LS6 (in a C5) to be tuned? I'm near Camberley but the car is drive able. Cheers

Hi mate , been chasing that one for the last year. I'm in Wokingham if that helps lol.

I have built a forged ls6 with a tvs blower should be near 14lbs boost.

Problem number one I wanted to fire up the motor while still in the air so I could check everything .

More than enough going on right there let alone the guesswork with a base tune , I did get a guy to come to me and got it fired up which was very convenient .

Had him tune it last august , stop and go traffic was bad motor dying to stall etc ,was told my cam selection wasn't the best
So have been doing research and seems if the tune is good should be ok .

Really don't want to rip the thing apart to change cam if I don't have to .

A good guy on here recommend protuner , and he is tuning my car at present , seems to be very good and knows his stuff , so giving it the best shot I can .

What's the spec on your motor?

Cheers mate

Sorry for the delayed response, but I had her tuned today at TopCats racing in Aylesbury. I can't recommend these guys highly enough for anything LS related. Got taken out in one of their LS7 powered TVR Tuscans, what a beast!

As far as mine goes, it's a new LS6 block with forged pistons and rods, 837 heads and a big cam, black wing intake etc. it was live mapped today on the disused airfield where TopCats is based, the tuner (wortec) reckoned on a solid 450bhp plus, but with no rolling road I don't know for sure. Definitely feels like a different beast!

PS just to add, your recommendation for Protuner was a good one, but he books up so far in advance I couldn't make it happen with my work schedule. Spoke on the phone and he seemed like he really knew his stuff.

Yeah, I waited 3months just to get it in there, then there's the wait to get a tune in it , and it's still up there .

I really do hope it will drive better otherwise that will be one waste of a whole year .

Glad you got your sorted mate biggrin

Dave hope it all goes well, but if it's still not right see if Nathan Thompson can have a look as he is back working now after a little time off, he's the only guy I know and trust and is a bloody guru with anything engine related so worth popping in to see him if it's not sorted already biggrin

Vaughan , yes bud , he was going to have a look at it , I waited a while but felt really guilty hassling him with all the problems he had at that time .

I told him I would get it looked at at protuner which he seemed relieved with, he said if I still get any probs and he gets sorted I am to bring it round to him .

Real nice bloke , and a bit of a clever cookie , I owe him a case of beer lol

If you hear a rumperty rump in the near future it just might be me biggrin

Cheers mate , enjoy that black beauty .
