I must admit I don't feel the need to use it that often..... round town it's 3rd (Sounds Great in Town Centres, I leave it in 'Sport' Mode !) 4th or 5th
and for getting between Towns I'll use 6th and 7th on the link Roads .... 7th is there ...and I found it's just Natural to change up

Without wishing to get involved in the Auto/Manual debate again, I feel that 7 manual gears is too many.

I have just bought one of the new Camaros with the 8 speed auto and didn't even consider a manual when the auto is so good.

Swerni - I'm going to have to live with the wing mirrors and higher road tax, but don't worry - I'll be ok!!

I'm more than happy with my 7 speed manual. Both my C5 and C6 were autos, but I'm just as happy with the manual. Personal preference I suppose, so I wouldn't claim either is the 'one to have' - it's nice that we have the choice that so many other cars nowadays don't give you.

TBH, the 7th gear is only used on the motorway to get the extra economy. The rest of the time it's the same as driving a 6-speed, so I don't see a problem with the number of gears. Unless I'm on a dual carriageway or motorway, I don't go near it anyway.

Hi Paul I Googled Carfax and did that from the Dealership paying online by Card (I did HPi the car aswell)
It's Peace of mind as you know!
For Ins Confused.com has a drop down for the C7 to select 'USA Import' (Compare the Market
Doesn't )
From the 80 odd quotes I chose LV= The usual players Aidrian Flux recognise the Euro Cars but
Not the Imports ....when I got mine at least
Your obviously getting tempted Paul!
Good Luck if you do keep us posted

I'm with LV too. They found my two previous Corvettes and Camaro on their system easily, but I guess it helps that all three are UK cars. Some companies really faff around trying to find an import. No problem with specialist brokers though.

LV came up as one of the cheapest on the comparison sites. European cover is included. I pay around £320 on a 2017 Camaro.

That's a fair price Rich for a Brand New Camaro V8'...... mine Came in at £431 as an Import.... thru Aidrian Flux or Lancaster it would have been a grand and well over as there Systems did not recognise an Import C7 just the Euro version
So I'm Grateful for LV= Lol

I use A-plan for both my imports, never had to claim but all other aspects of the 'insurance experience' have been top notch.

They do both our daily drives too.

They were less than half the renewal quote from Flux for my Vette this year and include trackday cover should you be that way inclined.

Hi Paul Absoloutly Delighted you 'Went for it' What a car the C7 is I was joking I've gone from Analogue to Digital ....Roll on Spring!
Did you get that Blue one? Ship my Car did the Lighting and IVA on mine the SatNav Radio and Aerial
Where done by the Dealer EMA Motor Company Huddersfield or should I say by an Expert they bought in apparently he will travel but wants putting up in a Hotel [He will take your SatNav unit and Aerial away when he's finished putting the UK one in he will send yours back to GM in the states for exch/Conv ready for his next one ]
Ask for Sam mention 'Ken who purchased the Velocity Yellow one' and could you help .... get in you understand you'll need to meet his expenses and he'll take your SatNav away on completion
I'm really pleased for you Paul and yes Pictures please ASAP!
Are you on CCCUK Paul?

The Z06 .... " 7 Litres of American Friendly Fire" [Clarkson Quote lol] Great cars ... so Good I had two of them ... They are Tyre Shredding Monsters! With Huge Road Presence fantastic performance and handling ... when filling it with fuel I'd Steal an Admiring Glance at it ....low and very wide with its wide arched body.
Like anything Tho Technology moves on and the C7 has moved on with 'Magnetic Adaptive Ride' on the Z51.
Switchable Multi Mode from 'Weather' Snow perhaps ... wet and slippery) 'Eco' Fuel Economy ...... 'Touring' everyday Driving ... Not For me lol ! ... 'Sport' Enthusiastic Brisk Driving ... Yes! and 'Track' stiffens the Magnetic Suspension further and the Steering too. The Digital Instruments have a Huge range of adjustment to tell you just about everything you could wish to know and More .... 'Launch Control' for Super fast Starts sub 4 seconds. Superb Styling ... I love the Exterior Styling ...
the Interior is a Huge Improvement.... Seating, Instrumentation Systems can you tell I like it lol
However when I purchased it I was trying for a C6 ZR1 if it hadn't Sold that would've been sat in the Garage.
Different cars .... both Brilliant

HaHa Macky ... I do remember now ... I had glanced at the profile pic of a Red Noble ....funnily enough whilst looking for my next car there was a Red M400 for a sale somewhere around 69k with only 6 thousand miles ....Very Nice indeed!
Well to answer your Question noise wise like the Z06 they are Damped down to Saloon car levels as is the C7 ...but put her in Sport or particularly in Track and she Growls ...the C6's you really need Borlas or similar I won't be going for that on my C7 as I can Mode Select Sport .... Theatre wise I think the Z has it ..... So a C7 Grand Sport has everything or C7 Z06 would leave it behind in all aspects ...However they are beyond my Budget Sadly. For me on my Budget the Stingray really is a better car all round it looks Outrageous ... is a Better Driving Experience....the number of Folk who have followed me or pulled up alongside to to get Pictures tells its own Story
Handling goes to the C7 with Improved Suspension set up and aided by Magnetic Adaptive Ride it handles as if on the proverbial Rails!
