Chris. Well done your car!

Awesome performance and a great review.

Jezza wishes he had one.

Wonderful time down here thanks SS!
Z06 has been a marvellous companion over 1,000 miles of gorgoeus roads and scenery.

Took some time out of the pile of wires in the loft that is now a new lighting system to watch this. What a value for money car. Want one in Yellow, black, red, blue, any (all?) colour and maybe a flag on the bonnet for good taste

Shame Jezza reintroduced the "press the plastic on the back" thing. I've got my C5 booked in for a rear respray next month just in case. Thought the review went well until the old fella started rambling on about his journey home. Who gives a toss about the radio, and tyre noise, harsh ride - c'mon Jezza, pretty much every car of that ilk is a little loud and rattles old bones over bumps. Liked the way he has started to question Ferrari pricing. Just can't wait till he sees the total cost of ownership.

Good entertainment - as positive as Jezza could have been expected to be given his prejudices. Must be one helluva car, but I really didn't realise that he had turned into an old man since last series.... radio, bumps, noise.... indeed grandad!

He better stay away from 90% + of sportscars then or arrange a protest for better roads

Exactly my point, they are all bad rides pretty much, however he is quite old (sorry if anyone on here is the same age) so i bet he likes comfort

I don't agree. The thing here is whether you make a track car or a road car and the trick is making one that does both. It reminds me of when they hurled the TVR 350 round the track on some programme or other and finally had it set up so it stormed the track but then they found it unacceptable for road use.

So whilst it was tremendous track time, is suspect that no-one will be that interested. Sure, it shows GM can develop a track car to rival the finest in Europe but who wants a racing acr as a daily driver. For me, the comments he threw in at the end were far more relevant as to whether I would ever want top buy one. Sadly, we also don't know how much of his criticism stemmed from his trying to break the car at the track.

I hope they do amore in-depth test along the lines of the convertible set they did in Iceland. A Z06, a Sagaris and perhaps a 911 GT3 on a road trip somewhere. For many, cost will be the deciding and possibly only factor but for me it wouldn't.

But is it possible without spending ££££££££££££££'s,ive always been under the impression that if you want performance you have to sacrifice some luxury, and visa versa,or is that why the Ferrari is 100K dearer?

The Ferrari 575 he compared it to is a 2 plus 2 isn't it?

Surely the comparators here are the Ford GT which isn't £100k more and I'm surprised Clarkson didn't draw it in (bar it's no longer made but neither is the 575 which bar top speed is slower than a C5Z06) and the F430 which was microseconds slower. Drawing the 599 F1 into the comparison was just a means of expressing the two extremes but is the Zonda or Koenigsegg worth £200k more than the Ferrari?

The question mark remains, doesn't it? The cars referred to above and those whose times the Z06 beat are already proven as fantastic road cars. The C6 Z06 proved GM can make a really fast track car (the C6R had already done that) for peanuts which is a good thing but it's only half the battle.

The other is getting over being compared to Robbie Williams. Then again is this comparing Robbie to Pavarotti.

Having driven the C6Z I can say it is a danged fine road car, with practicality of which the others can only dream.

ENORmous boot. Very comfortable seats. The ride is firm but not bone-shaking (or am I just well 'ard?). Yes there's tyre noise but combined tyre and engine noise are very substantially less than in the Tuscan. There's torque to die for - so it's supremely practical whenever acceleration is needed for overtaking. And it does 30mpg on the motorway. Must admit I haven't tried the stereo though. That must be the problem. Obviously.

Saw this black one in the Corvette Corral in Houston and it looked excellent.

There was also a yellow but it was wearing a bra

I was next to a brand new dealer plated yellow one on the freeway on Saturday morning, but didn't manage to provoke the driver to open it up so I could hear the exhaust

Still don't like the look of the back although GCA (Genuine Corvette Accessories) are doing some nice bits for C6's including the Z06 to make it look a bit better.

Enjoyed the test, it was great and its always the same American Cars.....clastic, crap inside etc, etc.

Times posted on a pissing wet track taken as positions on the wall, all very subjective and really not much use.

IMHO they should have bought the Viper back or perhaps the TVR and actually shown how much faster the car was. Similar cars same track, same driver, same weather + a subjective test.

And every flippin time we get reams about it on the track and bugger all about what its like to live with and the interior.

All in all great telly but crap if you like cars.

I've just noticed that Ramsey was talking about his F430 and said it was a great car for a Sunday outing but it left you battered and bruised. Hmmm.
