Cliff,

Certainly an interesting thread - am on the Coates website now reading all about their spherical valves... that fella ZR1991 also put on a good post, got me quite worked up... pity it's -2deg out here (and dark ) else I'd be out in 'er now!

On another note, sad as I am, I just noticed that if you turn a cafetiere (you know, the Bodum thingies) upside down, you get a rather satisfying "piston" for demonstrating to folk (in my case my very uninterested wife) the concepts of the internal combustion engine...

Am I going googoo????

Cliff,

I have a garage - but space enough only for the corvette and some units for tools etc... No space for working on the car in there - the bonnet opens up to high and it's a low enough ceiling...

Can't wait for the summer - this lack of light thing really isn't good for playing about with the engine!

On that note, my accessory belt on my '99 Caddy began screeching... a bit of WD40 took it away (briefly), thus eliminating likely non-belt problems (bent pulleys and the like)...

Anyway, went out and got a new one, and started fitting it a 3.45pm yesterday... a bit of pain to wind around, but got the job done about 5ish, so an hour of darkness: all this done on my todd with a torch...

I've of course come down with a cold, but that's to be expected

Good Grief!

Gotta love it!

Happy New Year,
