my best ever lap at Knockhill - kinda disappointed how calm it looks when I swear it felt scary smile need to find 0.55 of a second from somewhere and looking at vbox definitely possible https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfuMyEW2dP4. I didn't even cheat by going wider at hairpin for more speed on straight.

Good lap Andy, the entry into Duffus was impressive! MacIntyres and Chicane too! Those apex speeds up up on my laps but I suppose I'm a bit more 'point & squirt' and need a bit more in reserve to get the power down.

Its an interesting thing DCL and I think you suffer strangely from having more power??! If i look at my laps i sometimes find a faster speed into say Duffus actually ends up sacrificing time into mcintyre. I guess you put on more power having to brake down harder and then its at times more challenging to get on the power smoother and have car under control. I on my vbox delta can actually start pulling back time on even the Graham's noble due to this but obviously he smacks away after mcintyre.

Its going to be all change with the swap of tyre type.

Impressive driving there Andy! There was some real commitment into those bends.

What tyres are you changing to? I've been quite impressed with the wear rate on my 13" CR500. The wear looks good, but but the searing heat of my last trackday means I've taken some chunks out of the tread!

going from CR500 to A048 dry/A021 wet/road as they have more grip and are £40 *per tyre* cheaper. Having 12 tyres total well thats quite a difference and with scotland always pays to have tyres that you can get grip with in the wet :>

And yeh commitment wise you really have to switch brain off and release its way more capable than you think it is.

I really love the CR500 on the road, I just wish they had a higher profile to help get over speedbumps!

I'll be keen to know how you get on the 48's, I've heard some mention that you loose a bit of feel thanks to the harder sidewall.

yeh makes car slightly higher and yes harder sidewall but talk about lowered pressure (by 1psi) compared to the CR500. But im doing the bit more crazy thing at Knockhill of 19 front right/18 front left back right/17 back left. I have heard about 19 front right/18 front left/17 back right/16 back left... but im sure tyre pressures are hugely contentious discussion point

Imola ..... So good!

http://youtu.be/9EHGySnex4g

Mugello was not so good for me this year, didn't find the same rhythm I did last year and then threw it in the gravel before lunch. Ready to change approach after lunch and it rained, fun, but not quick on ZZR's. A good day, but not great like last year.

thanks Grant,

I often forget to even turn my gopro on on these events, and we have been doing about two a month of late, albeit it previously always at Curborough.

I wanted to try something differnt to make it look not the same old same old view looking forwards, and this seems to work quite well.

The guys From Sprint and Tradkday are a very friendly and fun bunch, so why not come along to one of the upcoming events?

You can find them on Facebook at Sprint and Trackday or join our Forum here:-

Love that view, great idea. I'm always wondering how to make it look more interesting and that does!

I've got a Caterham and planning on doing some sprints next year so might just bump into you.

I had a look at the Sprint and Trackday website, do you know of any sprints which happen in the south east (East Anglia)?

Thanks Edward, it does look quite good doesn't it?

I think next time I might be able to limit some of the wobble by not having such a long arm on the go pro mount.

Of course it's always going to bounce when on the travel,of the suspension arm.

As far as venues further south, we have not looked into that yet.

As most of us a midlands based, we have looked for venues that are within easy reach of the midlands motorway network.

But you never know we might branch further south, or most likely further west into wales, such as Llandow circuit as an example.

Our next Curborough event is on the 16th of October, why not see if you can come along then? If only just to see what we get up to!

Cheers, Nige.

Thanks, 16th? thats a Thursday? If so thats a good idea to run during the week.

I'll keep an eye out and maybe pop along some time.

I've got a track day at Woodbridge Airfield so I may well run my GoPro in the same position and see how it turns out. Looking forward to seeing your next attempts!

Cheers
Ed.

Hi Ed,

Yes it is indeed a Thursday, the guys always try to have them on a Thursday at Curborough.

Even if you don't fancy paying the £60, why not come along anyway and see what it's all about, you would be most weldome as it's very informal!

I would be happy to,take you out for a run in my R500 too, just to show you the route and circuit we use at our events.

Looking forwards to see what your videos come our like too!

cheers,

Nige.

Probably a good way of keeping neighbors etc. happy with noise?

I can't make the 16th but I would like to pop along and you have a deal on the R500 side of things!

Cheers
Ed.
