Newbie question - Different noses S3 SV?
Discussion
Well, a commercial agent called me today from Caterham Spain :-) to tell me that the prices in the web page are not valid: taxes are higher in Spain since 1st September and Caterham is raising the prices (a lot) for year 2013 (as an order made today is expected to be delivered next year). I will have the new prices this week (hopefully).
I asked for a test with a Roadsport but they only have CSR right now, and according to the agent, reactions are totally different due to power and dimensions (something I already knew :-)). He affirms Sigma engine is better than Duratec? Well, I'll have to wait until CF contacts me again so I can see "current" prices and the possibility of a test.
Transport fee is around 750-1000€ depending on the market.
I shouldn't be looking at the parts in the Caterham UK web as they are not compatible with the EU car...??? Yeah, that's what he literally said. So I wonder if the options for a EU car are limited to the ones offered by the dealer...

For the OP the photo below shows two 2011 cars, the kits were delivered about a week apart, with the nearer yellow seven being the SV the green/yellow is a s3. Its only when you put the two next to each other that the differences become apparent.

Go through the options list in detIl with the dealer, and make sure you understand the options. Also, if possible, sit in cars with the different options to understand S3 compared to SV, the lowered floor option, etc.
34k is a lot, but the dealers overseas have to make a living and supply support in the future. Also, I expect a left hand drive car will sell for more than a right hand drive car.
And no matter what, the depreciation is MUCH lower than a standard car, and you are buying it because you want it, and not because you need it. Enjoy!

LHD option cost me £1000 with CC South.
I don't think CC give the dealers much if anything anything on mark up, plus they have to add the cost of matriculation and taxes, so it's always going to cost more in Europe.
The only gripe I have with Spain, is the half hearted response from the dealer. But that seems to be normal with Spain. They just don't get customer service.
I live and work here, and I'm so sick tired of their lazy ass attitude, I now deal mainly with foreigners, or get stuff from U.K. hence buying my car direct from CC.
