age 51. First Caterham bought aged 27 (a 1.4K Supersport).
So, 27 was 24 years ago which is 1991 if my maths works. So that was the start of the k-series era. Well done that man!

Hi I'm 56, I was involved in building my current car in 97 for another person, and bought it 5 years ago. it's a keeper.

I'm 51. Can't quite believe it.

When hunting for the Cat I did chat to an owner who was 70. I made the mistake of asking if he was selling due to age and he said that he'd had the car since he was 50, just that he wanted a faster one to keep up with his friends!

Thanks Bert. It might have been January '92 actually as I remember Christmas featuring and snow on the ground when I picked her up from the 'old' premises behind the petrol station up on the hill. From memory Guy Munday sold it to me (just before he left Caterham?) and it was one of the first 1.4 Supersports which would make the '92 pick up more likely as they were released a little later. All black inside and out with Clamshells. I have some photos somewhere. I loved it for its turn-key reliability and desire to be thrashed within an inch of its life without fuss and not so much power that you'd kill yourself. A great little starter seven. Arguably one of the most rewarding to drive on normal roads. That said, a desire to have a little more 'oomph' and try the old school twin-carb version saw the 1700 Supersprint enter proceedings a bit later on. Had that one for over a decade now and hopefully, finances allowing, its a keeper.

38 in my case. I picked up my Caterham 3 months ago...but I ordered it 9 months before.

I guess technically I "bought it" with 37 then.

We'll never get an accurate cross section here because for every younger Caterham owner there will be a truly old biffer who doesn't have an Internet or any googles, who think 'Pistonheads' is that marvellous ale they used to like drinking until it started making them dreadfully bloated and giving them terrible gas... The sort who should probably be in a Morgan, if only they were able to bend down to grease those damnable trunnions and door hinges.

Well, I'm now 50 (soon be 51...) and have had Eugene since I was 19...

Really not a lot more needed to be said - I just love the 7!

Cheeky young pup . At the ancient age of 62 I somehow manage to fire up the internet and ask that helpful Google chap to do his thing. I am not sure my back would actually take to the ride quality of a Morgan - if that isn't an oxymoron(at your age you may need to look this word up , given the rubbish education you probably had ) . Strangely this old biffer even finds he can still pilot his R400 at reasonable velocity. Now where are my Werthers Originals ...?

68 in October. That should bump the average up a bit. :-)
Driving a 2011 1.4 K series Classic.
First 7 in 1997 but 2 seater soft-tops since 1965 including 3 MGs, a Morgan and currently an MX5 as my daily hack.

I'm another old 'biffer' of 67 years of age who has had the same Caterham bv twin cam for 39 of its 40 years - the first year of its life was as the Caterham demo car when it was used for magazine articles & road tests etc.
Will surely help to increase both average length of ownership and owner age!
Sadly wife now refuses to travel in the 7 but is happy enough in my new toy (F355 Spider) but parting company with it is still too hard to contemplate!

65 here too. Built my first Caterham, an R400D, this year. Registered 1st June, already done 1 trackday and about 1250 miles.

Giving the car it's first full service this week.
