I think it's traditionally mid to late 40s hehe although I'm only 36 and have had the car 2 years.

Purchased a Stuart Taylor 7 with Toyota engine at 50 yrs of age for road use and track day, Then a three year build of my F20 Honda powered Dax Rush road use only, Then purchased a race Caterham R400 for track days in uk and europe then after a full rebuild. Into sprinting running in sports libra class. Then done the ARDS test in 2011 and started racing at 60yrs of age in 2012 with SEMSEC. Now just starting another build of a S3 Imperial chassis car to run in the road modified class for local sprinting and blating as i really miss a road legal car when the sun shines. And may enter for a few rounds of Mag 7s in 2013 with the race car, depending on funds.

Bought mine at 19 (It was my second car) and still have it now at 23.

I think that the average is probably slowly coming down thanks to Caterham's motorsport associations, and the superlights getting a lot of media attention (they're in computer games now, and on TopGear a couple of times etc)

Having said that, I do know two 72 year olds who have bought their first Caterhams recently- one of them is coming racing!

Very interesting with such a very wide age group for basically the same car which is a 50 yr old unit. And within the range of cars such a variation as well. I surpose that is the success of it, Just build it to do whatever you want from it.

I'm 36, I did have a W###field at 20, the amount of fuel that went in was dependant on how much cash was in my pocket, usually about £3.

Happy Birthday KRL!

I'm not sure us PHers represent a proportionate cross-section of Caterham owners, we all seem quite young really...
