The new bloke you mentioned is Martin Bushaway. I have met him, he is a good guy and I hope good things will follow.

Why is this thread still going? If you are not inside the camp then you have no right to comment. Club suits the needs of the many - could it be run better? Of course, but so could the UK economy - only one of the two will have a meaningful impact on my life.

To see the welcome new members get is to reinforce the streak of decency that runs through the club.

Can we close this tread yet?

Free country innit?
If only those "in the club" have a right to comment, of course it's brilliant.
Just like British Airways, BT, Demon Tweeks, Network Rail and iTunes will all tell you they're brilliant. Funnily enough they all get a sound, regular kicking on BC, or is external criticism allowed on Blatchat but not of Blatchat? hehe

It isn't compulsory to join the Lotus seven club when you own a Seven!

If the club isn't for you for some reason, leave it and get on with enjoying your car and your life.

If someone else wants to be a member, let them get on with it, after all it's a free country.

If you really want to be a member of a Seven club run as you would like it to be run, why not start your own club and advertise it on here.
You never know it might catch on.

Presumably CBB has an axe to grind about someone or something, but heaven knows who or what. Must bother him though to still be going on about it. And on, and on, and on, and on .....

Oh what a pity. I used to think what set PH apart from BC was the lack of posts directly discussing other people, especially in third party context.
It's incredibly rude and slightly ignorant.
I'm also slightly intrigued as to how anyone can admit to not knowing what's being discussed yet at the same time accuse someone of going on and on and on about it. confused

Er nope, it's quite obvious what's being discussed, much less obvious why. But pray do continue, don't let an ignorant rude individual like myself interupt you.

Your go. In fact, don't bother, as you fall so perfectly in to that BC clique who look at who's posting and automatically reply along the lines of "Ahhhh shaddap" irrespective of what's actually being discussed.
Must admit though, it's been a while since I saw someone prefix a statement with "Pray tell" in a weak attempt to add some faux-gravitas to their tedious ramblings. Very well done. The only let down is that you haven't posted anything for weeks, months even, then appear twice in one night just to have a pop at me whilst skillfully swerving the main theme of the thread. Learn that from BC did you?
And you call my contribution pointless. rolleyes
Anyway, since the BC Mafia appear to have arrived, with its "You can say what you like as long as it's what we like" policy I'll leave you to it.....

I'm not being pedantic, I simply stated that it's obvious what is being discussed (here), but less obvious who, what or why there's an "axe to grind" about something? Maybe I missed something that happened on BC? I'm sure like many others I don't read every thread on PH or BC, only the ones that appear to have interest (to the reader) .... this thread has interest but the cause of your comments (if there was a cause) may not have been relevent at the time so passed a lot of people by.

V7SLR - like you, I never saw the original postings on BC (or wherever they appeared) that seem to be at the heart of fuelling this discussion, so at times parts of the discussion don't make sense (e.g. I have no idea who CBB is, or what his/her issue was/is).

I think discussions like this are inevitable in most clubs - it only takes a minority to disagree with the general direction that the club is headed for the grumblings to roll on and on, I am chair of one this year - I have learnt that while it is impossible to keep everyone happy, it is really easy to p*ss someone off, even if you had no intention of doing so!

memsec@lotus7club.com is the correct email address or just phone Sam to pay.

cool was just wary of some random mailing of bank details - spent enough on a caterham without someone nicking it and buying nice stuff.

Lotus 7 Club - is it worth it ?

In summary, some say Yes, and some say No.

Thats it, in short; can supply more words to pad it out if necessary.

Yes, it's a bit like Corrie or Extenders - you can miss it for weeks and then come back and pick it right up again, as if you haven't been away, with the same old plots and sub plots rumbling away.

Come on Bob, your turn now?

I'd rather eat a horsemeat pie from the chippy than become embroiled in such backstabbing and diatribe.
