I'm clearly just a big girl

Anyway (back on thread) presumably, in the same way that the SV uses the current widetrack suspension, it's possible to fit the new suspension to the standard car.

From the pictures I've seen it looks like the mounting points for front and rear suspension are welded into the new chassis. So I doubt it'll fit a "standard" 7 chassis.

Also, the front and rear are wider on the SV chassis. I would guess that as they haven't shown a std. chassis with these suspension bits, that they don't yet have them (and possibly won't have them?).

I'd heard that the rear suspension won't physically fit into the classic chassis, however you can fit the after market 'FreeStyle' super wide inboard front suspension and super-wide rear dedion suspension to a classic (I blelive this then brings it up to the same track as an SV).

I'll be looking at adding the FreeStyle inboard front suspension in the winter.

Just read in one of the mags that it's 120 Kg heavier than an R500 - a bit bloaty even without me sitting in it!

I believe the weight quoted is for a standard R500 (no windscreen or weather gear kevlar seats, no carpets and no heater). The weight for the CSR is for a car with
Windscreen, Weather Gear, carpets, heater and leather seats. It will be heavier but also has more power and more torque plus it is sure to handle even better!

Does anyone know if Caterham are going to bother to galvanise the new chassis or is that too much to ask for a £30k motor?

It'll be powder coated as before.

Decent enough protection provided it doesn't get chipped
