I only that you would only get torque steer if the driving wheels were also the steering wheels?
That is the normal meaning of torque steer. Front wheel drive. However if the rear axle is not located well and "twists", then rear-wheel steer might be a better description. I don't think that Chris Evans is the only observer of the effect.

Autocar did a road test a while back. I can't find the figures online, but the braking performance was abysmal (damp track and 'eco' tyres) being the worst of any sports car or tintop tested by them. Quote from their website:- "Away from the lights, the wheezing triple feels every inch the microcar donkey and is utterly bereft of puff by 40mph in second gear. Caterham claims 0-60mph in under seven seconds, but in the wet we couldn’t crack eight seconds and are inclined to think that it wouldn’t go dramatically quicker even in ideal conditions."
Yes, it was Brutally Honest to the point of Savagery :-)

They did give it 4/5 though... somewhat at odds to the authors clear hatred of the drive train. I wonder if that spec sheet first impression coloured their experience, they go on and on about it? Perhaps other reviewers felt more need to be kind to get time in the 620?

Perhaps Caterham should have provided press drives on a sunny May weekend along some SW B-roads rather than through a damp winter?

Thanks for this, he seems to be tweeting quite regularly with his progress. It is going to be interesting to see how he gets on.

It all looks very tidy and organised.

Not sure who the munchkin driving is or why he's being such a "lad" but here's another "review" of a open top sportscar in the rain- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdJU7iXsCPw

To be fair, he does seem to be having a laugh irrespective of the precipitation :-)

My Seven kit was delivered at the end of November. It was ideal timing, as I had it finished in mid March ready for IVA and registration in April and on the road for the summer biggrin

Have fun!

Please, they are missing from the online article.

I assume they too where recorded in the wet? Seems the 160 hasn't ever been used in the dry :-)
