Hi, just got my first caterham, a sigma 125 academy car that I plan on slowly bringing back to roadsport form.

Can anyone tell me what is the best place to service a caterham around the winchester area and also is there any point in keeping the oil catch tank when I have no plans to track the car?

Many thanks

Tom New in Bishops Waltham

Despite the appearance of his website he's quite happy to service road-going sevens - having mine serviced & MOT'd there next week

Based on this thread just took mine to Tom's this morning for a service and a few bits. Top guy!

Another option, and a nice blat, is Partridge Green Motorsport who look after road cars as well as having a great flat floor set-up facility.

I'm also happy to recommend both Tom at New Techniques and Andy at PGM - I've used both quite a bit.

Agent Orange - did you see my bright green 7 at Toms when you visited? A few jobs being done on mine this week smile

Sure did. Was as the back of the barn behind a silver/grey 7 and looks like you're running throttle bodies with an ITG filter. Very nice looking!

Mines having a service, MOT and a few little jobs ready to sell when I come back from the US.

That's the one, it's a pretty decent spec and very good engine. Tom looks after it for me, it's in for MOT, new vernier cam pulleys and whatever odds and sods he thinks need sorting. Then it's off to JKM in Portsmouth for engine mapping (I changed the exhaust type and it's made a difference so need a re-map). Hopefully I'll be back on track in it soon!

Well I wish I'd found out about Tom sooner. Great job on the car and sorted out a few things I didn't realise needed doing. Car feels a lot tighter and more solid as a result.

Definitely recommend him.

He knows his stuff, always very busy though - not sure how he's getting on with my car.
