Those tyres are gone and a set of CR500s are now on, but I definitely intend on taking it easy smile
175/55/13 all round? Nice smile

They're not bad in the wet at all, but in heavy rain and standing water a 7 can get a bit bumpy, which is only made worse if you're going at motorway speeds. Just take it easy and stick to the left while leaving the diesel Audi's do what they like in the fast lane wink

I will probably be on the M25 from J3 to J5 then head across on the A25/A22/A264 towards Horsham and home.

Knight, have a great day collecting your car. Congrats, it looks lovely.

Definitely take it very steady if it's wet. You don't want to ruin your first journey home ... ask me how I know. rolleyes

Congrats OP

My new one arrived last Friday - in a torrent or rain.

Took it out on Monday for the first time, warmed it up carefully, and drove straight into a speed trap.

3 points and £100 apparently - not the best start

Not taken any yet. I've been in the garage fiddling with it, have removed the windscreen and fitted the aeroscreen smile put on my new 7 grill and removed the fire ext as I can imagine someone grabbing it to test it!

Great to hear you're enjoying your new car. How so, with regards to the glasses were you hit with a flying object? Interested as I've ordered the wet weather gear on mine but fancy putting a plastic aeroscreen on for the summer (new screens are £500.00+ yikes).

How did the missus react when you said you were removing the screen and she'll need to wear glasses? laugh

Wasn't hit, but it gets very windy very quickly with no full windscreen on! biggrin

To be honest on my drive home from collecting it I couldn't see anything behind me through the rear view mirror as it vibrated so much and the door mirrors hadn't been moved so I could use them! And as the car came with the aeroscreen it seemed a good idea to change it over, just so I could see what was behind me of course! wink

But I think I might invest in some mirrors that I can bolt to the windscreen when it goes back on, and hope that they don't vibrate!

She was fine with it, fortunately she has short hair at the moment so it isn't too bad in the wind. smile

I wouldn't bother. If you attach them to the windscreen then you won't be able to open the doors fully with them attached! I have some I use when I remove the doors on trackdays, but it's only a halfway solution really since I'm not ready to invest in an aeroscreen this year.

I agree the door mirrors are useless though. You'll get used to how awful they are though....

To be honest, I'm not sure I'd use the doors when I put the screen back on so having mirrors attached to the screen wouldn't cause any problems.

One thing I did notice when I removed the screen, was 2 wires, one on each side ( I assume for the heated screen) and one was broken, I took the passenger knee plate off and found a blue wire that had been cut/broken and when I removed the screen I found the other end. I didn't try the heated screen button before I took it off.
