Thank you smile

Yes give it a few months to acclimatise to the car, then get the Aeroscreen on and experience another dimension to driving all over again!

That was one of the first jobs I did on my Supersport - remove the knee guards.

Pointless panels.
Yes, almost 20 years ago some clever person thought it would be good to put the bits of the knee trim panels onto the dash and make the whole lot out of carbon.

Who recalls: (and look at the prices!)

Just got back from my first nighttime blat, only downer were the amount of bugs hitting my face and the sodding gravel that has recently been spread! Apart from that it was superb biggrin

Gotta say this. I never thought an aeroscreen would be that good.
I flipping love it, helmet for the motorways and longer drives, as my face got subjected to gravel at 30mph and it hurt, like a biatch.
Went back to a full screen for the mrs peace of mind, the aero was put back on when I got back as it just didn't feel as fun.
The inlaw loves the aero screen and remembers a cyclist knee at his eyeline.

So in short; aeroscreen = good, full screen = bad.

Very nice. Do you mind telling me where you sourced your front cycle wings?

Thanks.

Nothing a shower couldn't cure when I got home smile the only thing I'm not looking forward to is being caught in rain, but when it happens I'll grin and bear it wink

Car was built by Gary May (freestyle) I believe that they are his creation but not 100% sure, others may know more.

I have the same car as Darumvej, a Freestyle Duratec and indeed, the cycle wings are Gary Mays creation. The wing vents are "let in" rather than as part of the wing moulding. Designed to prevent lift. Not sure where they can be purchased from now.

This evening the Mrs wanted to go out for a drive, but on the proviso that I put the screen and doors back on rolleyes

Anyway, we're duly back from 50 miles of Cotswolds roads and it must be said, with or without screen the Caterham is a cracking car thumbup. However there's no doubting the performance increase by going Aero biggrin

Or going solo smile

Out of interest does anyone know what the "performance" advantage would be.

My daughter loves going in the car with the aeroscreen on and wearing the tinted safety specs and yesterday I did both school runs in the 7 smile

The significance of weight has a lesser (overally) effect as speed rises, whereupon drag becomes the limiting factor.

It was at speeds of 60/70 mph upwards that I really noticed the performance different. All on a private road, naturally.

Well I've booked my first track day for the car at Oulton Park and it'll be with windscreen on as I've not got an aeroscreen yet. Should be fun all the same. smile
