Bit of a long shot but is anyone travelling over to try out the mighty green hell at anypoint this summer?
I live in cologne but dont have a car and the nurburgring is only an hour away, and I still havent driven it and dont want to spend silly money hiring a suzuki swift.

Im willing to pay the ring ticket price and petrol etc for a passenger ride in a caterham as I would like to experience it properly.
So bit of a long shot but worth asking hopefully.

Cheers in advance

Damn - just got back from the 'Ring and Spa in my R300.

I would have happily taken you round - my best lap Bridge to Gantry was 8:41, but over the years I have done more than 100 laps in various cars so know it reasonably well.

Maybe next June/July when I return.....

damn that would have been awesome especially in an R300, how was spa? I still haven't been there and its less than a couple of hours away.
I actually work for caterham, and for some reason they don't want to furnish me with a company car? Dont know why smile

Spa Francorchamps is quite simply epic - the best circuit I've driven anywhere in the world !!!

Pity you didn't post a few weeks ago , did DN10 trackdays with my seven - best of 8.12 BTG in a 1600 supersport. Would have been happy to take you round, sadly no more trips planned this year.

Sure one of us three will drive the ring this year again and we get something sorted for you. We all live in the area as well, me in Langenfeld. Cheers Volker

Its a Drift HD170, really pleased with it. Only problem with that recording was I broke external mike lead so using camera mic so more wind noise and less engine than normal.

Ha that's me in front of you in the old BMW at start of the vid (pic from last yrs DN)

I'm chasing my pal in the old Mk2 Golf, he however ran a 7.44 on that day, I can just pip an 8.00 if i'm feeling in the groove so I'm soon left behind, you are pretty much behind me the whole lap, I only gap you where my top speed helps me out you caught me well in the whole down to Breidshied section- Kalenhard, M.H.M etc, you were mighty, I then pull away up the hill again you close in Wiperman & right behind in phlanzgarten, up to the start of the DH, where I bang on the hazards & slow for the yellows, then pull away again. Great lap. Interesting 1200kg vs 500kg

2nd lap I really should have pulled in as was my 3rd lap on the bounce & the tyres & me were a tad goosed on such a scoching day & you close me nicely down foxhole & out of AF & I know how brisk you were as said above on the whole next section, I don't want to spoil your flow so I pull over & you do me at Metzgfeld.

I had meant to find you in the car park & say Hi, 1st quick Caterham ever come across at 'ring, you were pedaling well, I guessed you were 140bhp or so, my last Caterham was a tad more punchy with 170bhp ish & 515kg, if you were in that I think my lardy old bimmer would have been far easier prey.

Just watched it again , I' d not really registered it was the same car in front so often. Pity we didn't hook up afterwards to do a few more in convoy, I like having a quick one to try and chase down on the twisty bits. Few more horses would help on the long straight bits but it keeps it interesting trying to make up for it elsewhere.
