Hello Caterham owners,

My brother and I are trying to find a Caterham SV, ideally with the 1.8 K series engine fitted, something between 2002 and 2005 but will consider anything as long as it’s an SV. Mileage and colour aren’t too important as long as it’s in good condition. It must be an SV and ideally mostly standard.

We’re looking to spend up to £15,000, we’re in no rush but thought I’d ask here to see if anyone is considering selling. We’re based near Southampton. We are aware of the red one on Autotrader, for which we offered the asking price, but we’ve been messed around by the seller unfortunately.

Thanks for any help.

Dan

This car is perfect, we even went to view it yesterday, but it's sold. frown We would have bought it there and then otherwise!

This car we are considering. I really want the original wheels, but I see he does still have them. Also wanted all the wet weather gear included at this price, the one at the dealer does. A lot higher mileage than the other, but maybe he'd negotiate on price/extras.

Way over budget unfortunately, and we'd rather a standard car really.

Thanks for your help though!

Any thoughts on the yellow one at £15,500? Does anyone know this car?

zed4... I've an SV (too recent for you and not for sale! smile ) and I have yet to use use my hood - so if you do get one without weather gear let me know and you'd be welcome to make me an offer for the hood and hood sticks!

Give Ben a call at http://www.ptsportscars.com/
He may know of one coming up - they don't always make it to the website.

The other yellow one is sold too. Seems there aren't actually any left for sale! I will just have to wait.

SVs tend to hold their value so you may find you'll have to wait to get what you want with your budget. You certainly won't lose much should you find one though.

Hi,

I am selling the red one i Aberdeenshire... just noted you wanted "a standard car" but apart from the wheels and the kill switch on the dash the car is standard caterham spec... oh, I did add a mechanical oil pressure gauge but you should do that anyways.

I have a set of Caterham 13" 8spoke anthracite wheels that could be supplied.

Price always negotiable.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your reply. I've just agreed a deal on one, more info on it tomorrow. If it doesn't go through, I will be in touch.

Thanks,

Dan
