Thanks Eugene. I also read on one of the threads that someone's carbon wings went all milky because the damp getting through - I'm a bit worried about this - I'll check out your link and the 7DNA
Cheers smile

For some reason the original post has gone missing - but the link is to Storm Car Covers: http://www.stormcarcovers.co.uk/
I have no association with them, other than a satisfied customer.

The 7-DNA discount to members is also not of any benefit to 7-DNA, as 7-DNA is totally not-for-profit, and so cannot be viewed as 'marketing' as there is no financial gain for anyone - just discounts to interested people biggrin

Also, the external waterproof but breathable covers should never let moisture through - sounds like improper use, or a damaged cover to me...

Are you sure you "have no association with them, other than as a satisfied customer" Eugene? wavey
I thought Storm was owned by your mate Carl, who set up 7-DNA along with yourself? Also you both organise Le BOG trips to Le Mans together, so not really "no association" now is it? wink

(and I'm not having a go at you, or Carl; I just think you need to be a little more open about your "association").

Good point - I have no financial association with Storm Car Covers, other than being a satisfied customer...

Does that sound better?

I do obviously know Carl, and we do a lot with 7-DNA, and Le BOG Club, but there is no financial involvement at all.
That also goes for 7-DNA, and Le BOG Club - it is all not for profit!

We just like to try to help other like minded 7-esque vehicle lovers.
If you look through 7-DNA, starting with the main home page, yo will see a number of businesses are shown offering their wares - some with associated discounts.
All the same, even though most I don't know personally.

Hopefully that helps???

biggrin

So are the 'storm car covers ' the ones to go for?

I'm not fuelling an argument am ?

I need one quick and I need a good one that won't 'sweat' underneath etc..

If money was no object which one would be best?? If money is no object it still means I can't get a garage !

cheers

I have a storm cover.
Its a good piece of kit, light weight works, breathes (not sure if / how to check it out)
To comment on the milky carbon. I had carbon wings on my old caterham and they did go cloudy though I can't say it was because of the cover or not. As it did live at the mrs house for a few days a week, in the rain.
My car was laid up for a few months and had the cover on it all that time during last winter and it stayed put on there and kept it dry inside.
The only thing I was slightly dissapointed by was the clips, where they attach to the main material was poor and mine ripped off after a little while.
I have an aero screen currently, in the recent rains it has pooled in the cockpit area on the cover but hasn't leaked through to the other side, I was rather amazed by that to be honest. Hope this some what helps you out.
I would say go for it, I was very wary about which one to get but glad I went for it.
