No probs, a lot of the guys don't do Facebook!,

There is a good community on the Lotus and Caterham owners group, i would suggest taking out a membership, if you don't get one for free with your new car, they used to provide one for fee in the good old days!

http://www.lotus7.club/forum/chitchat

Of course lots of us are also pretty active on here too!

I am excited about getting my new kit next year, but as a person who has just won a new 620R I bet you are almost wetting your self with excitement!

Start counting the days!

Thanks I will get signed up.
Just realised it was you that had posted on you tube of yourself and son out in the R500, great video!

I am trying my hardest to think about anything else but it is a struggle spin
A couple of years back I spent a little time in a CSR which really gave me the bug so yes I am super excited. I have had a few decent power 4WD cars over the years but nothing like this that's for sure.

Really swithering over the side exit exhaust now but concerned that it'll just be too loud, I had to have the RS4 silenced when I got it just for that reason, it sounded fantastic but you could hear it for miles when having a run out.

What colours/spec have you gone for in the Superlight

Yep lots of people love or hate that video of me and Tom in our R500 in equal measures!

If you are going to do lots of track days in your 620R then it's worth getting the rear exhaust, but it's a hideous monstrosity of a thing!

Pretty sure CC will provide you with both if you spec it, so it's easy to swap and change.

I have gone right back to basics and simplicity with my superlight, bare aluminium and carbon!

Well the video made me chuckle!
I will probably go for the side exit then, as you say the rear box just doesn't look right.
Have you left the aero screen or gone for the windscreen?

Glad it made you smile!

Once again we had several people, come up to us out of the blue yesterday and say, " you just be Nigel, I have seen the video of you and Tom on YouTube! " it gets a bit worrying sometimes when people you don't know come over and say hi Nigel!

For my Superlight I have added the windscreen, but with the interchangeable aero so I can swap it easily.

It's a setup I prefer, and have had on all,but one of my previous cars.

However unless I am touring in Europe, I am 99% aeroscreen, and the main reason is to make sure it will be easier to sell when the time comes.

From many years of experience , you really limited the amount of buyers if the car is aero only.

You won't be able to track it with a side exhaust so that's worth bearing in mind.

Edit: although my friend said Raceco might do a side exit one that would pass noise testing. Going to email them now....

You have me thinking now, are the windscreens easy enough to retrofit with the roof just in case I do change plans? I went with the lowered floors so hoping I was below main wind flow, I had read quite a few folks saying that the buffeting could be quite bad if the doors were off and the screen fitted hence just sticking with the aero and half doors

Mario, if you would be kind enough to let me know what the result is when you get it, may well order one from there as it sounds more suited to what I am after, I am not wanting the full blown noise but don't like the look of the rear exit

Can you retrofit the screen.
It's not really a viable option to fit it later, and it's not just the screen of course.

The option is known as weather equipment, not only beacuse it includes the windscreen, doors and roof, but everything else that's needs to allow them to be fitted.

So that includes things like the wipers, wiring and mechanism, heated screen wiring, hood sticks with a different depth not cover etc etc.

As I have never ordered a car without a screen, I can't comment for sure, but I even think the dash will be different too,,as so many of th switches would be redundant, but the 620r uses bespoke switches too,,so it could be different t again.

So to summarise, if you think you might ever want the option of a screen, it's best to,order it at build time, as it also effects the paint etc, and spec the interchangeable carbon aero option too, and check that is what you are ordering and going to get as there are two options on the price list.

This is the one you want:-

That's great, always nice when you get that letter from Jordan at CC. Makes it seem like it's getting closer.

You won't be far behind us with our Superlight Twentys then, I suspect we will all be on the road following the builds etc around about April time frame.
