Hi all

Just wanted to know from those who have ordered new cars in the past whether the initial delivery date given was accurate or whether you received delivery early or later than stated?

From the blogs I have read so far it looks like delivery is between 3 and 5 months after ordering. I placed an order on 11th Sept with an estimated delivery date of April 2015 which is closer to 7 months lead time. Maybe the lead time is seasonal?

Thanks in advance...

I think you are just scheduled the next build slot, and that may move up if there are cancelled orders. Mine was a month early.

My understanding is that they run on time (on average). I ordered my kit in Feb this year, it was due for delivery mid June but got pushed back to early July.

Pretty sure lead times over the winter/spring can be a little longer sometimes as they need to get the race cars out in time for the season (e.g. 56 new Academy cars) which might explain why yours is 7 months.

Ah yes of course that would indeed make sense. with 10 cars produced a week that would add on at least 5-6 weeks. Thanks for the info.

How's the car been?

My kit is due to be before Xmas, I hope to start some work in January but will be down under most of February so won't start seriously until March.

Thank you, it was a very unexpected order I must add.
I won the BOTB competition and played for the 620R bounce

That's fantastic! I bet you couldn't believe it when you won. I may have to start playing.

I ordered my Superlight Twenty in the middle of September.

We were first told by CC that it would go into production in week 8 so approx Feb 22nd 2016.

So that would make it 5 Months.

However the official letter that we received stated that our deliveries would be Late April to Mid May.

I understand that CC have to be cautious abut delivery dates, and not to over promise and under deliver.

However if my car does not get delivered until mid May that would make my lead time 9 months, which would be an amazingly long period of time.

We can only hope that all parts in the supply chain for the build are available with out supplier delays!

Its not bad, we just waited 18 months for our new Porsche....

The week at work after was a little hard to focus! It didn't feel real until the order form had come through and the car had been specced up and ordered..

After watching the videos and talking to owners I am now wondering if I should have gone for a windscreen?

Craig, can't believe you won a 620R + £10k (you're on the website!)

That is amazing. How long did you play for / how many tickets you buy each week?

I just dropped in and out over a few years and usually played for the Caterham, I bought 10 tickets with a 40% discount and points accrual via the website it only cost 20 odd quid.
BOTB were brilliant, 4 days from finding out to the order going.
Lowered floors, half doors, Ibis white with orange stripes and a heater for the spring/autumn.
Surprising how little options are available for a 620R

Yep extremely lucky but it does show its well worth entering!
