Bull$hit. Still at least we might not have to go legal now.

V7 - Its theft of intellectual property. There was no rights grant given. It's a bit like buying a DVD from Amazon, sticking on my website and flogging it for £5 a download.

I suspect the club could do nothing right for you, there's clearly an issue between you and club that's much bigger than the website and its changes. I don't know what those issues are and nor do I want to, I have no doubt they're valid or at least are to you.

Did you copyright your posts, are they published elsewhere? I reckon you'd be on a loser trying to prove intellectual theft, in the same way that whatever you post on FB becomes their property.

I get that you're pissed off but the whole "my camp, your camp" bit won't help - we're all in it for the cars aren't we, regardless of what tribe you're in?

Your analogy is definitely skewed, if that's your basis for a legal argument good luck to you!

The hassle of trying to go from blatchat to the new site means I will probably not bother (spent 20 minutes and couldn't get anything to work,). Sold my superlight seven years ago and not looking like I will get another any time soon so the hassle is just enough finally to prompt me to cancel the direct debit for membership after 16 years, doing the academy then getting a superlight, being an area organiser...

Anyway, The weather is so crap in Lancashire that had I still had a 7 for the last three years it would hardly have been used anyway and more likely to get a brz as a toy now...

Sad cos I have learned many things from being on blatchat (coffee, bread making, cucumbers) and I loved the simplicity of it

Intellectual Property is not always subject of copyright.

My DVD example was perhaps a little oversimplified for you V7. How about taking somebody elses source code and embedding it in your own commercial software? Plenty of legal precedent on that one.

The facts are very simple - L7C did not own the content, and did not have the owners permission to publish it anywhere but on the old website. The fact that they have moved it to a new website may also be an issue in law, as it was never submitted to the new website, and the terms do not state any right to republish elsewhere.

I work in an industry where breaches of IPR ownership and consequential legal action are commonplace.

Christan, I have no issue with the L7C, only with its management team and the electorial process behind it.

Is there an electorial process? Or am I missing something confused

No, you just volunteer to give up your time to help run the club, but you do have to be a member wink

This is getting a bit tedious now - you don't like the club, you feel aggrieved, your website is better, blah, blah, blah - change the record, it's boring already.

Don't you mean the lack of electorial process behind it?

Why read a thread if you find it tedious. You have the choice, just like I have the choice to debate the matter. I doubt either of you ahve been around long enough to know what it was once like.

Bob, It was the lack I was referring to. When the new Chairman is the old Chairman's best mate you know something is wrong. That doesn't even happen in the Liberal Democrats!

The point I was making was that you've made your point, and well I might add but let it go and let people make their own choices - which is where the thread started.

There's lots of clubs and groups to choose from and whilst it's cool to promote your own it's not very gentlemanly to run down another.

You know when I joined the Army I used to listen to the old sweats telling me how it had changed and how it used to be better - maybe so but I at the time, like those joining L7C now, I knew no better and loved it (and still do) as those joining the club will, don't sully it for them.

Never let the truth stand in the way eh?

Anyone who cares enough can join the MT of the L7C.

You just need time and commitment and be willing to take a lot of st from people who think of themselves always before others! Wonder why so few people put their hand up?

It works as a Team and a real democracy where people listen to others. Sometimes other people have views that are not the same as yours and you have to accept them - strange that!

When the last change in the leadership took place there were I understand just 3 hands held in the air. Each east asked to present their view of the future and a vote taken on the preferred candidate.

All the nay sayers and bloody experts appear after something goes a little wrong. They are never around to offer help when its requested in the first place of course.

If you don't like it - just be quite or help.

The next MT meeting is on the 11th Oct. There are quite a few seats available with permanent roles. But of course you will have something else planned that day as usual.

Where is it being held?

Surely the best way to get the future you want is to be on the team that plans it!?
