Took my car with a mate through a lot of the tunnels in London last night. It was the first time I drove it through London and I must say it got a lot of positive attention!

Whilst at the main junction of Piccadilly Circus I stalled the car and the engine cut off kicked in (doh!!!). This meant my passenger had to get out and push me to the side on the road. As soon as he started about 3 to 4 people helped him. We stopped just next to Eros, took off the bonnet and I had to sort out the switch which the allowed the car to start up again. In that short time the car caused quite a stir. Loads of people started posing for pics. It was like a scene from Top Gear! A great experience!

Well done you.
Last place on earth I'd take a Seven what with the crap roads, horrific traffic and draconian rules for bus lanes etc.
What ever possessed you?

We used to do some of the semi secret ' organised' tunnel runs during the night in our old Caterham. Had some massively entertaining nights there. Driving in London can still be a giggle. In fact, we went up on Sat evening for the Chelsea Cruise.

I agree it is a laugh. I went out at about 10.30 and reached the west end at 11 but it was still quite busy. Next time I think just after midnight may be better. In fact, I may go out next weekend!!

We used to be heading home on the M3 or A3 around 3 am, sometimes later. Great in the summer.

I'll never forget the time that normalbloke above and I, were heading home from a TR at about 2am. We were on the M3 Southbound (or Westbound as the BiB are want to call it) and I was a few miles in front.

I was only doing 1.0 lepton - which was fortunate really, because as I was motoring along a dark, deserted carriageway alone, coming up to Junction 4, I thought to myself 'hmm, if I didn't know any better - it looks for all the world like the entire 3 lanes of the motorway in my far distance view have a row of cones right across them, from left to right....

....must just be my tired brain playing tricks, of course that can't be r - fk ME, ALL 3 LANES HAVE A ROW OF CONES ACROSS THEM!!!! yikesyikes

I anchored up hard, and just managed to slow to 10 or 20 mph as I came up to a complete row of traffic cones blocking the entire carriageway! WT actual F???

Some dick / dicks had decided it would obviously be a laugh. I've no idea if they were in another vehicle that had stopped and then cleared off, or were hanging around in the field nearby, or what!

Suffice to say, I stopped in time, and managed to drive through a small gap, pushing some cones out of the way with the car. I then tried calling my mate - who's phone was off - but luckily, he saw them in time too.

One of the most mental things I have ever experienced on a motorway before or since!!!!

Is that because it runs, approximately, East-West rather than North-South?
hehe
