Need some urgent help from people.
A few things here the sump took a fair whack the other day as I think my suspension is on its way out. It now has a crack on one of the spines and is leaking oil. Is it possible to fix it or is it a replacement I am needing now? Not a happy chap today as I got a puncture too.

It has certainly had a heavy knock frown

Do you think the puncture contributed by reducing the ride height?

Anyway, you could try getting it welded, but it is quite a lot of work changing it and you'll be annoyed if it still drips, so if you can afford it, I would buy new.

By the way, it's worth checking your engine and gearbox mounts to make sure they haven't been damaged.

Yea it was a road near me that has caused that. Though upon further investigation that is not the part that is leaking it is above it. It is chucking out a light brown liquid, oil and I believe coolant (pink). I think this is going to be expensive.

I'm hoping its not that bad but I am loosing a fair amount of coolant and oil.

New gasket would hopefully solve the oil leak.

I dropped mine as far of a full oil change. Noticed it had two blisters on the inside from knocks. I had them welded just fine, but apparently a nasty job for the welder due to the oil stuck deep in the cracks.

Coolant coming out also seems odd, not sure how near the nearest coolant channel is, could be expensive. How low is the pump for it?

No idea really, just waffling.

It is a K series just to clarify and rather dirty under there too.
I shall see I need to get it looked at so was hoping some people here might be able to shed some light on what it might be as the cost seems to be piling up now.

The crack in pic one looks to be only the cooling fin, and I can't see where the leak is coming from ?? the sump itself seems intact ?? The sump gaskets are pretty robust

Adam,

If it really is cracked, any decent ally welder should be able to weld it up. You just need to get it really really clean first.

There is a guy in Caterham Valley called James Gates Fabrications, or ExactWeld in East Grinstead. I'm not sure f Ian Angel (Angel Welding) is still in New Addington, but he could do it too and is a bit nearer you.

I have looked and it isn't leaking from the sump as I had originally thought but the bit above that. Though not sure what it is cooled. I have a tray underneath the car and there is a fair amount of water coming in. I will take a picture later of it and show it.
