Hey Andy, good to see another person up here in Aberdeen looking to get a caterham.. My one is being delivered on Monday and I cannot wait!
With regard to that last blue car, one of my friends knows the owner and by all accounts it's an extremely well sorted car. I have passed this link onto him and he can maybe add some more details. I would say it's worth a look for sure..
Cheers and good luck with the car hunting.

yeah I know the blue car with clams. Joe has had it for about 3 years. its a solid car and I doubt you will get a quicker caterham than that for £14k.
its got the full R400 upgrade (dry sump, big brakes, 6speed etc) from caterham and the engine had a full refresh in 2012. Dreadnought did the work and did not cut any corners.
condition wise there are a few chips here and there, it's not perfect showroom condition but given its age and the mechanical spec its a good deal at that price in my opinion. One advantage is its 98 model so visible smoke test only at MOT time... no cats, no emission requirements :-D
I've not crawled over it to inspect it fully... usually too busy trying to keep up with the damn thing! its quick! my SV 160vvc stood no chance!
Joe also has a fair few extras included as per the advert, extra tyres, aero screens etc.
Edit to add: the HPC's are 16"... but he has a 13" set of minilites with toko trackday tyres on it.

Yes and I am planning using it all year.... Are you thinking the same or keeping it for the better weather days (not that we get too many compared to say Cornwall)? With regard to that last blue car, one of my friends knows the owner and by all accounts it's an extremely well sorted car. Hey, I wont be using it daily but I do plan on using it through the winter certainly, just not when it's chucking it down.. looking at the ZZR's their wet weather grip doesn't look too hot!hope it goes well at the weekend.
