My car keeps getting knocks from other people's cars when parked, especially the fog and reversing lights stick out a bit.

I was wondering whether one could add overriders (small verticle bumpers, as it were). Has anyone ever done such a mad thing?

The trouble is that they would have to be fixed to something solid enough to survive a large car pushing on them without distorting the chassis tubes.
Of course, you could always fit a spare wheel biggrin

Yeah, I thought of that. I suppose it would need a properly engineered solution, with energy dissipation and all that :-(

I saw Morgans (can) have them: http://www.morgan-spares.com/plusfour/chrome.html

But, oh well, I suppose I'll just have to live with the rear body work getting pushed in, the paint cracking and the fog/reversing lights getting broken all the time :-(

Actually, just having the fog/reverse lights somewhere else would help...

It's a CSR200. There was some reason a spare tyre couldn't be fitted.

How often are you getting reversed into?

You might need to change where you're parking! I must say, I did feel nervous leaving my 7 parked between two 4x4s a couple of months back. From the entrance it didn't really look like there was a car in there until you got up close.

Reversed into *and* driven into from behind. :-)

I live in a city and park on the road. Gaps around parked cars are usually less than a foot. I think people trying to get out again sometimes can't even see my car. :-(

I once parked between two Minis, and my car looked small :-)
