Hello all, just got my first Caterham and been out for a pootle and a blast. What joy ! I feel like a kid again. biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

The car is the 1.8 SV from PT Sports Cars who have been absolute gentlemen throughout the buying process. Also a shout out to Callum from Sevens and Classics for demonstrating the various options, but who didn't have the right car at the right time.

No doubt I will see some of you at one of the Kent clubs as I'll be joining with an insurance discount.

I guess that was the Black and Silver one?
They are in my fb feed so I saw the picture there, PT are just down the road from me, so I am glad to hear they are good people to deal with, having just bought another 7 I may well be paying them a visit.

It's a darkish green, actually, not black. I'm trying to identify the colour, sometimes it looks like BRG, sometimes not.

Hi Teembo wavey
Not sure where you are in Kent, but this Tuesday is the lotus 7 Club meet at the Spotted Dog, Smarts Hill, near Penshurst; so if that's convenient come along and say hi.
We're usually in the area to the left of the bar through the short passageway - just ask for Mike Clarke (the Area rep) or me (Ian B)
beer

That's because there is no such colour.

Welcome to the world of 7 ownership.

Ha, thanks, so it probably IS a BRG, then.

Virtually ANY shade of green could be called BRG so yours is just as BRG as any other.

If you look at colour photos of racing cars that were painted in the British national colours you will see that each team had its own shade and, indeed, often used whatever shade of green paint they happened to have to hand.

In its later years, BRM had an almost black shade of green but in the 1950s their green was much lighter.
The British Racing Partnership (Ken Gregory and Stirling Moss') team used a very light green on their Coopers and Lotuses.
And, of course, Scotland, which (for the moment) is still British - uses dark blue as its national racing colours.
