Caterham & Lotus 7 FB page
Discussion
It is a shame. I liked the group, I'm especially grateful that you allowed me to share my Caterham hire page freely.
If it doesn't reopen, another good FB group is SEVENS SEVENS SEVENS, run by a chap called Mango who spdoes a good job. It's a good page.

...and a master class in condescension (from little more than a boy) on the page itself.
Christian, hello from 'little more than a boy'. Now who's throwing their toys out the pram? That's how you described Bertie on FB for starting this thread. Which was started after you didn't like the reply to your 'humourous' comment about Bertie's quite fabulous stable. Then you insulted me for trying to be nice, so I left. And then to top it off you insult me again. I really do not know what to make of it all... myothercarsa2cv said:

Think of it what you will, frankly I'm past the point of caring. Chrisp5782 said:

Think of it what you will, frankly I'm past the point of caring. You then went on to post a rude and condescending message talking to me as if I were a child, that's why I wrote what I did. You must be in a wonderful position to be able to comment on the lives of those you don't know so deeply.
The thread here was started by Robert, I didn't respond for a long time in an attempt to prevent the ill feeling and drama coming here - there are people on Pistonheads I know personally, have the utmost respect for and didn't want this to be the topic of conversation when I next see them.
The issue with Robert and his posts was sorted, he was invited back and I quite openly admitted to misunderstanding.
It is my right to police my page, I may well have been too quick to act but that's for me to sort out not you or anyone else.
It's unfortunate you feel so aggrieved but I was merely acting in retaliation to your comments.
I don't want any more bad feeling, the page is gone and will soon be forgotten.
In this situation we all lost sight of what's important, the cars.

Chris,
I can't quite believe how badly wrong this has gone.
To see you close a group you've invested so much time in is certainly not what I or I am sure anyone else would have wanted.
As you quite rightly say, it's your group, you make it what you want, but for the sake of the other 260 odd folks I do hope you'll reconsider.
If you truly don't feel able or want to, and bearing in mind it's really supposed to be all about fellow car enthusiasts, and you've got 260 of them there, perhaps you could consider handing it over to someone else to admin?
I'm not sure if that's even technically possible, but it seems such a shame the many have to suffer for whatever may have gone on between a few.
Just my thoughts, I'm genuinely sorry this has ended up like this.

Yes, sad that the FB group page has closed. I'd enjoyed posting a few pics and a quick video to other 7 fans and seeing some great pics of people's car. Whatever they were or cost is not relevant, we should be connected by a love of the 7. I'm recent to the Caterham ownership experience and generally thought the group was a pleasant place, very little sniping, seemed quite genuine. Shame.

Actually John I'm going to expand on this because your version of events isn't quite how I remember it - you publicly criticised me for managing my page and got upset when I asked you (perfectly politely) to expand on your comments.
You then went on to post a rude and condescending message talking to me as if I were a child, that's why I wrote what I did. You must be in a wonderful position to be able to comment on the lives of those you don't know so deeply.

I wouldn't quite say offering to discuss it offline was getting upset about it, but what do I know? I'm little more than a boy. I was upset when you insulted me though. As for rude and condescending... Telling you that it's hardly pear shaped and that you shouldn't give up is about as rude as it gets. I honestly can't think of anything worse. Good luck with the new page. You then went on to post a rude and condescending message talking to me as if I were a child, that's why I wrote what I did.
