Indeed quote from Auto car.......now some questions, the 'Brand' was used for F1, if the 'Brand' isn't required for F1 or the Renault/ Caterham project what next?

I am not being negative but Caterham was run for many years as a successful family business its now a Brand, with a new Brand centre in Crawley I don't think the average person (in the UK) buy a Caterham because its a Brand.

Tony Fernandes Q+A

Why have you bought Caterham?"I always wanted to use F1 to get into a road car business. We had hoped it would be Lotus, but that went horribly wrong. I looked at other options and Caterham jumped out.”

What can you bring to the firm?“I am a brand builder. I take great assets and build them up. Caterham is a sports car company with lots of heritage and is a brand we can take places.”

Not sure he could have been expected to do much other. Maybe he didn't handle the PR very well but I can't see how anyone can be expected to simply continue to pour money down the drain.

I'm not sure Fernandes is the right bloke to blame for the failure, which is what has resulted in the job losses.

I guess in many industries the boss of most under performing companies just resigns so its tough call, but if not the Boss then who to blame? the workers?
