I may be wrong but doesn't Fernandes want something like £80m for CC. He paid a fraction of that and I'm pretty sure they haven't expanded by that much to warrant his current asking price.
I'm wondering how that is known. Is the company for sale? Is there a sale process ongoing with info in the public domain about a "minimum price"? If it is actually for sale then it is extraordinarily unlikely that the details are public. Where does the 80m figure come from?

Tbh I've no idea but ive seen it mentioned here and there of a sum in that region. It could of course be a load of crap or it could've been spread by TF himself to gauge response

Nice markup. I doubt he paid over £3m for it. Nearn sold it to Corven for £2.5m after the refund for the CSR order book, I think Corven were just happy to get their investment back.

No it's just a rubbish internet number. You know that.

And if you bought something for 3 and sold it for 80 why does that make you a bad person?

Anyway it's not a real number.

Businesses like CCL are valued on PE ratio, unless they have substantial assets That would inflate the price I can't see them making sufficient future margin to warrant such a high value.

It's dawning on me that little or nothing of what IBDAET, whoever he is, says is 'real'.

750 cars x average selling price ... say 25k = 18.75m. or 35k = 26.25m
Other income, parts etc say 3m
Sales 22m to 30m, 18.5m to 25m exc VAT

Net Margin between say 3% and 8%

Assume inventory/assets and debt are equal (big assumption)

Profit 500k to 2m

p/e of say 8

Business value of 4m to 16m

Unlikely to fall outside this range

I think businesses like Caterham cars are very unlikely to be valued in a sale by pe ratio. They will always aim to get a strategic (as the buzz word goes) buyer.

Anyway we don't even know if they are in a sale process. Anyone seen an IM?

An on drugs estimate.

Turnover £10-12m max. They sell about 250 road cars per year. The rest are race cars. Someone told me that in the past they even included used car sales in their SMMT submissions.

Er no. I am much closer to people that no than most others on here.

You really think CCL is worth double what he sold the F1 team for?

Says he who hides behind a moniker and never comes out. If you knew anything of much value about Caterhams, you would know who I am, and how I come to know what I do.

Please explain who you are and why you know so much?

That's quite a strong statement. I enjoy your posts and missed you on blatchat when I was a member ... but that's quite strong.

I haven't ever taken any drugs.

Where did I say I 'know so much'? I've been asking questions and, in the main getting no answers.

The only thing I do know is that I ordered a Caterham back in July and it was delivered to me, on time, two weeks ago. So far nothing has been missing other than a couple of shortages I was advised of before delivery and I am quite happy with the quality.

As for hiding, who exactly are you? I have no idea other than your meaningless 'moniker' and the description of 'Jedi Master and minister of peace' or some such bks.

I really don't give a st who or what you are sir, it just surprises me that you spit endless vitriol about Caterham without any back up. I for one will not take your assurance of your 'trusted sources'. Either put up or shut up.

One thing; if, as doesn't seem to be disputed by other than possibly you, Caterham make between 13 and 15 cars a week, by your figures, there are between 400 and 500 academy cars being built every year. Really?

They also published figures for 2012, a poor year, much improved on in 13 and 14, which showed a turnover of £18.3M. Are you saying they are publishing false accounts too?
