An on drugs estimate.

Turnover £10-12m max. They sell about 250 road cars per year. The rest are race cars. Someone told me that in the past they even included used car sales in their SMMT submissions.
So come on Arnie. That's not a good showing is it? Can't even guess close to the published number. Perhaps your sauces have gone off?

And As for the whole 80m question. As you know I wasn't saying anything like that number was sensible. In fact to the opposite, that it was a made up internet number bearing no relation to a sale price.

And again as you know, even if TF had said it, daft public blabbing of a number does not a price make.

Double standards from members of the management teambiggrin
Not really, but I'm sure you know what you mean!

The first quote (that you've taken out of context) was referring to someone on here who I know has contacts at Caterham Cars, but who doesn't find the need to shout about them.
The second was asking someone on here, who shouts about their contacts with Caterham Cars a lot, to confirm who they are.

Not sure what either has to do with me being a member of the Lotus 7 Club Management Team, but carry on sniping byebye

I just find it strange how you find it acceptable for someone to be rude and to belittle people yet they cant be asked a simple question. But you can ask the same question of someone else.
Its not right that you insist others have to accept what a pal of yours says, at face value, with no questions asked yet that rule only applies to who ever you decide. You dont get to make the rules up for everyone else im afraid.
The word hypocrite comes to mind redcard

The little dig about you being on the management team was to say that you would fit in well with that attitude.
Hope that explains it better for you biggrin

If someone typed such a personal attack on Blatchat, they'e be banned I fear.

As unelected Chairman of the Club Martin Bushaway, it is nice to see you have some interest over here, but you are on the worng thread.

I'd go back to your private forum, you know, the one full of stolen IP you charge to access. I call this theft, and a probable breach of the DPA. Lets be sure of that.

Shouldn't the last few posts be in the 'Toddlers in Sevens' thread?

IIRC that thread is discussing the pros and cons of children in 7s and any relevant safety and legal implications.

This one started about 7s and classics and went off topic a little to insult and attack other members of Pistonheads because their opinion differed from someones. Then there was a bit of bullying from others jumping on the bandwagon.
The last few posts are a reflection of this. Perhaps if you read the whole thread you may realise this.

Its such a shame that people cant have a grown up adult discussion rather than stooping to rude responses and personal digs.

My response is worded to assume that you were not being childish and sarcastic.
If you were why not fk off and come back when you have grown up a little bit and can add something relevant.
Maybe then a sensible discussion could occur eek

Hmmm, but surely he was just making a tongue on cheek remark? It does seem quite apt the way this thread has deteriorated, it's hardly a sensible discussion any more.

Its either sarcastic, tongue in cheek etc etc but does not really matter. All it does is fan the flames and stir things up and keeps the rude comments alive and does not add anything of any use. No opinion or useful insight of anything thats been written here already.
Some call it Trolling...................

The thing is it could have been a sensible discussion and perhaps solved a few things if it was not for the egos involved.
If an outsider read the threads here and other places and decided that the Lotus 7 club was not for them I would not blame them.Such a shame that egos ruin what could be something so much better. And if I am honest is what I felt when I was a member.

Just ask yourself why its not a sensible discussion any more..................................

The old Blatchat has found a new home. Here. And it seems it has gained several new members who will be right at home here.

IMO it's no longer a sensible discussion because of the comments of people who seem to have a lot of experience of 'BC' and the 'L7C', which have been far more damaging than Sfaulds' one liner.

I do agree with your comment about outsiders deciding the club may not be for them, after reading this. It's exactly the decision I have reached as someone building his first Seven. I just don't need all this.

Why not try it for a year before you decide?
There are a big mix of people in the club and they are not all as grumpy as you see on here!
Also depending on your skill level/experience etc there is tons of help in building a car if you need it. There will be someone who can offer help and advice with pretty much all aspects of your car. And if you have half as much fun as I have then its good value for money for that alone.

Couldn't have put it better myself. I've made some great friends through the club and enjoyed their company at events all over the country

And to be honest this is why the club has become such a sad place that make people alienated even before they join, there is just so much negativity on these forums, and sadly even more so on the new boat chat too.

Sadly it's the same old set in their way types on blatchat, who spend so much time with petty negative comments, even to people like myself who have been an owner, builder and member for almost 19 years, who manage to make me feel unwelcome, so I wonder what on earth new perspective members can make of it, when looking to join!

I would say it's the usual armchair owners, who probably don't even own a seven or Caterham, but it's worse than that as a lot of the owners of newer cars have also become bitter and twisted and regrettably this makes the club seem distant and unapproachable, so I suspect they just don't bother.

What's even more disturbing is the amount of long term members who are also posting on blatchat, about why they are leaving, and won't be renewing their membership.

Some of these are individuals, who have moved on and no longer have an interest in the club and its membership, but I also suspect it's because the place has stoppe d being any fun any more, and they just don't see a value in it.

This breaks my heart, as if I was a prospective new owner, I would look to the club for guidance and advice, and my feeling is that both the club and it's old school members have no idea, on just how much the new social savvy generation, put a lot of store by blogs and websites before they close a new car or brand.

I have no evidence to the contrary, but it is all these facts that means that membership of the L7. Club is in decline and is a lost surely putting off new buys of all Caterhams too.

Good advice especially if you're new to 7 ownership.

Must agree, I've been a member of the L7C for 8 years and made a great circle of helpful friends within the Club i've had great fun along the way with trips and events it's been an amazing journey.

The early days of Blatchat i never really liked it was just nothing but arguments as the main Egotistical idiots who ruined it are now thankfully away from the Club and reside here, which means that blatchat is free of the bile that you'll read here. IBDAET and NigelPugh have axes to grind hence their vindictive and negative sentiments.

As a designer i like the new Blatchat/website format clean and modern and doesn't look outdated Compared to Pistonheads and other sites that i use, so sign up, join in and have some fun and make some new like minded friends...you'll love it!....

Enjoy.

I certainly wouldn't decide whether or not to join the club based on some of the absolute bks on this and the other long running thread. I've been following both for a while and some of the comments made by ex-members with axes to grind baffle me. Your issues with the club are history. I've had a great times as a member in the 3 years since I joined it.
