So is Blatchat too PC, or under-moderated/abusive? Can't have it both ways, and the current balance seems about right to me.
I'd imagine a fairly p1ss taking response on all car forums (definitely including this one, and not just UK forums) if a topic such as "The benefits of open marriage" was posted for (attempted) serious discussion.
I always thought it was about spot on re. moderation in all honesty. What does make me laugh though is it's the "eternally offended" who cause the most grief, and in trying to get their own self important views across they always become more abusive than the foe whose name they are attempting to blacken from their perch on the moral high ground. It's a car club, and it's forum is mainly used by male petrolheads with a decent smattering of female enthusiast too.......most of who also share a joke, Barbara and Windycat to name just two.
Piss taking happens, if you happen to be on the receiving end that's life, it's like water off a ducks back for most people I know. Anyhow if you are that thin skinned I really question the sense in posting possibly contentious questions on the www if you might get upset by some responses.
Feckin' hell, some guys would not have lasted 10 minutes in engineering with this prickly attitude. Although in fairness I seldom see this behaviour in real life, it does seem to be a forum thing.
Blokes take the piss, end of.

If you're referring to the C&L7OG on FB you'd be wrong, very wrong. Over 800 members and our last meet had 75 cars in attendance, hardly pretending is it.
Did you do a survey of how many of those attendees are also members of the L7C......if not your claim is null and voidI am sure all sorts of people do meet up, give it time people will fall out with each other either its all the same rubbish that goes on.

Membership of the L7C has nothing to do with it.
Seems to me you just don't like the idea of another group, get over it.
You're a very negative person aren't you, does your life lack something?

And what would make it null and void - it wasn't a L7C event, it was mentioned on BC but the vast majority of those in attendance were C&L7OG members. Even if just three people met up it disproves your point and takes it out of the virtual realm, you can be a member of more than one club or group - you do understand right?
Membership of the L7C has nothing to do with it.

Id love to know what you took out of your editing, Membership of the L7C has nothing to do with it.

I am a member of many clubs and if it was mentioned on the L7C how many of those who turned up were L7C members.....you don't know and can't know.
Does my life lack something................Nope I'm a very happy guy clearly you love making assumptions

You don't seem to get this do you - it wasn't an L7C event or ever advertised as one. Anyone, regardless of what other club they are a member of, came to a C&L7OG event, your point is utterly irrelevant.
As I said previously, if just three people attending were members of the C&L7OG your theory is debunked.
As it goes I know several people there were not members of the L7C.

You guys appear to disagree in the strongest terms, but why start attacking each other. This is a classic example of how communities are ripped apart. It appears that we all get very defensive and start attacking people when we feel judged. Are the above comments really necessary?apexcone said:

Clearly we disagree. Are the comments required, not really but it makes it so much more fun! The difference is that Toaster and I both know it's not really said with any malice, we're goading each other to get a stronger response than the last - no real insult intended either way.

Indeed. We don't have chips on our shoulders either. That should get things going That's how British men do this sort of thing you see.

Think it needs a pint and to be honest I don't think we really dissagree (much) That's how British men do this sort of thing you see.

WOW, well if that what you consider funny, humorous and good fun then I'm not surprised that almost all the Canadian Caterham Owners have jumped ship from the UK based L7C. That's how British men do this sort of thing you see.
Apex, this is the problem......both guys say it's a bit of banter between them but you say it's not. This is where the troubles always start.
I really don't understand this. If that's offensive or not in good taste then there's not much scope for anything else on the forum other than posting inane links and asking what oil suits a tuned K series

Kenny don't bother. He has issues and seems to be going down the same route as he did on BC. I really don't understand this. If that's offensive or not in good taste then there's not much scope for anything else on the forum other than posting inane links and asking what oil suits a tuned K series
Coppice summed it up well.
