Wow, Lotus 7 Club's quiet ... how can we help it recover

Of course people are leaving the club for many different reasons and we may not share those reasons or their life styles, but the culture of attacking people because they choose a certain life style, are a bad speller or haven't read a post correctly doesn't justify attacking people, which for some sick reason appears to be humorous to many.
Are you talking about Blatchat or PH here? The L7C is far more than Blatchat - local meets, wightblat, etc.
FWIW, I prefer the post on techtalk to the old blatchat. I don't think its to do with the website, but something has changed, and in my view for the better. There may not be the same number of posts, but the quality and objectiveness is in a different league. If I was new to the club, then I would be more encouraged than the bad old days.

For some of us, BC is most of it, and LF the rest. Local meets and Wightblat would take well over an hour to get to from here by any mode of transportation. I always thought the South Islanders shirked club involvement, along with anything post-1970s in general.
So now, having provided us members with a cronically pathetic website AND particularly, a Forum, with the functionality of a corpse and GUI (user interface) with the visual attraction of a bit of 3 week old road kill - we are now going to be subjected to the delights of Banner Advertising - I quote: "this will be in areas that are currently white space so should have no impact on the usability of the site" There is NO usability of the site in the first place. I object strongly, having paid my £40 plus a year to then be subjected to advertising that some one thinks 'compliments' what I have paid for.
As a member, for now over 25 years - and someone who is passionate about 7's - one simple plea . . . STOP F**KING up the Club and hacking off your ground root members. Help it recover? Its just yet another, ill conceived, ill advised nail in its coffin. Who ever is planning its marketing and development needs to SERIOUSLY review the direction being taken and do something about it asap.

Roger, you may get some more informed response, and get your views heard, if you post on the Club forum, but I doubt anyone from the club will respond to posts like that on here As a member, for now over 25 years - and someone who is passionate about 7's - one simple plea . . . I'm sad to say I cancelled my membership this morning when I realised it was due to re-new at the end of the month.
I've never gone to any events (they're a long way from Cardiff usually!), I tend not to read Low Flying and with numerous free alternatives I just don't feel the need to pay for something that I under-use.

I know we've exchanged a few posts on wheels and stuff but never realised you were in Cardiff. I'm in Miskin. We'll have to go for a run 9or blat if people can't remember what's meant by a run...)I've never gone to any events (they're a long way from Cardiff usually!), I tend not to read Low Flying and with numerous free alternatives I just don't feel the need to pay for something that I under-use.

I'm watching a Lockton's banner ad running across my PCGB home page right now...and one for Chartwell...official Ferrari body repairer at the foot of the FOC's home page...haven't checked MGCC home page yet, but I bet it has a Player's Weights ad on there....

Sounds good! We're actually looking to move outside of Cardiff in the next couple of months (just needing to sell my flat in the bay first). Hopefully near Efail Isaf somewhere - though we have actually looked at Miskin too!
