Not to mention PHs
PH is a PITA actually...the banner pops into the area where the dropdown box you wanted to access was a second ago...result?...you end up clicking on the banner..convenient for pay per click, right?

Nobody's threatened to leave because of them though.

I was! It was either get Adblock or stop using the site. It really irritated me, especially when mobile, slow connection, phone, tablet etc.

Hehe reading the thread on BC, it won't make things any slower, as they are just itty bitty ads! Hardly noticable. Negligible extra revenue generated.

Er....

My membership expired at the end of April and until ten minutes ago I could still post there. I wonder if I'll get this month's Low Flying?

Speaking as an L7C member from the colonies. For us BC is the club, And for the most part it's OK, and I do get something out of it. But it needs big improvements, Such as easier quoting and replying to a specific post in a thread. Instead of the "in reply to post #___" that no one ever notices.

Less seriously, While I realize that BC is British centric. I do in fact like the taking the piss sort of thing and fully support lively discussion.
At times though if a person is posting from a far off non-British location, And especially when posting as a new or not well known member within a particularly serious thread. "Usually involving politics or religion" It would be nice if the sharp tongued members were a bit clearer if a particular reply is in jest.

Now if one wants to see the slowest blatchat related area. Just point & click on over to https://www.flickr.com/groups/blatchat/discuss/721... Where sjmmarsh was the last person to post there 2 YEARS AGO. sleep Some nice photos over there though.

Can't comment, as I , like most people don't bother posting there any more, so I do t know if it's regained any followers at all?

From a quick look,, it seems like the traffic is very low, with very few posts, but that's been that way for quite some time, so don't know for a fact but it does seem like it's still quiet and has not recovered to the previous levels of activity from the old blatchat.

It got over the initial teething problems a while ago thanks to the work the team did to get it from Beta status. It is now a lot busier and, even at its low point, it was always busier than this forum on PH.

Why not take a look? cool

Yes it's certainly a lot busier, even I am using it more. Well done to all those that have worked so hard to get it working correctly.

It looks quiet if you aren't logged in for some reason.
There's still a great knowledge base on Blatchat, last year, I got some excellent advice on brake pads.
This year, I searched and found out about intercoms smile

I still have a look but it seems like a lot of resurrected threads that are keeping it going. Not many new ones that I can see.

It's deceptive Toby because if your not logged in as a member many of the new threads don't show, not sure why so might ask the question.

Joined the club 4 months ago.
Have had two phone calls from AR'S welcoming me and asking if I needed any help + explaining how to get the most out of membership.
I've been to a 'Get to know your Seven' event at Caterham which cost club members a tenner for a full days tuition on basic maintenance. This was brilliant.
I'm off on the club's Oulton Park track day this month.
I've been approached and asked if I'd like to write an article for Low Flying. I did and it got published.
Blatchat has been very helpful with tons of people willing to offer advise when / if you get stuck on some aspect of your car.
I can't say I've noticed any fighting on the forum at all.
In short... so far I've had a good experience and have found the club well worth joining.
