For a S3 with standard (non-FIA) roll bar and mirrors on the doors?
- Standard vs long nose
- SBFS vs Thudersport (Without opening cans of worms about response times/customer service please)
Any owners' experiences welcome to help me make a decision.
Thanks!

I've had a SBFS long-nose on my S3 for last couple of years, and it's a decent bit of kit. Prefer it over the standard one as the louvred bonnets can allow rain water in and sit on top of the plugs and leads.

If you buy a longnose shower cap (or a std one), does it attach to the front screen? If so, does this mean it's not secure if used when Aeroscreening?

This is good point. It doesn't so much attach to the screen, but does use it for support and taughtness. I think I'll be doing a lot of aeroscreening in 2015, so I'll have to see how I get on... Most of my use so far has been with the windscreen.

I've had a SBFS long nose shower cap for some time and happy with it; as mentioned above it covers up the bonnet louvres.
(didn't know Thundersports had copied that as well now rolleyes ).

Thanks all!
With door mirrors, am I right in thinking the standard SBFS long nose is the one I need? (rather than the upgraded version?)

The problem, as such with the SBFS show caps is the they are made of quite a weighty material so don't pack up so small as the light nylon types available. Also the non long nose leaves the bottom few inches of the screen visible. Useful for a parking ticket but does not keep the interior out of sight.

I had one made by someone else which has been excellent for several years but has finally bit the dust after some dubious home mids :-)

I think I may try an Oxted one next, but still considering the SBFS long nose to keep the rain out of the engine bay.

I use a tonneau because it's old-fashioned, like me.

I bought the standard SBFS shower cap, in hind sight I should have bought the long nose version. I just wanted the most compact cap as possible so it wouldn’t take up much space; but the consequence is that water gets in through the louvres and wets the heater and intake. I will likely replace with a long nose version when she comes out of winter hibernation.

I like my SBFS long nose shower cap. We've used it the last couple of years in Scotland and North Wales in wet and windy weather at times and it's always kept the car dry and safe.

It folds into a bag, which we keep in front of the draft reducer between the seats. It's not tiny, but it fits in fine and I'd rather have the bonnet protected from water than not!
