Why hasn't this sold?
Discussion
Just wondering if anyone knows this car? It's a superlight which is desirable, yet it's been up for sale for ages

It is overpriced, and there's no way i'd pay that, but my old X Reg 1.6 Superlight with 33k miles was advertised at £16,995 at a well known Caterham dealer back in 2011, and it sold pretty quickly. 14k as a private sale is probably about right for that car, but Superlight/Superlight R's do seem sought after these days.

I'd say age and price, rather than mileage.
Mileage on caterhams isn't really a factor to those that understand what they're buying.
I disagree fwiw. Mileage is important. And generally, a lower mileage car will be in better condition. Age is actually less of a factor. My HPC was the cleanest car you'd ever see when I bought it, but was older than the SLR I owned before it.Mileage on caterhams isn't really a factor to those that understand what they're buying.

I still agree with Aeroscreens.
Unlike a tintop, you can buy a higher mileage 7 and replace anything on it that might have worn (can't think of a lot that would though), and even respray it if you want to.
You can't buy an older 7 and make it newer
Chris is talking tongue in cheek. He's not your typical 7 buyer...his car is an older 7 that he has improved over the years. And I would never see him for dust on 7 trackdays...him and Roger Swift were always a bit handy.... For the majority of owners, they'll buy their first 7 and then either stay loyal and buy another or offload it. Ian, you put yourself about a bit on the forums, so you will know that 'upgraditis' is a false economy. Far better to sell the car and trade up.
Not sure about that-the Superlight is the original etc and has a LSD, widetrack and carbon bits which are not included in a standard Sigma for anything like similar money.
R300s are £20k+ and the only difference is about 20bhp. The rest is identical. Actually I think the diff was optional on the R300.
Sevens and Classics very recently sold a 40k+ mile Superlight for £18k-think they are pushing up the prices for these and SLRs.
