Thanks good to know. Not heard a bad word said about any Premier Power upgrades so far! Still I'm interested to know how it compares to the Caterham 140 upgrade.
I've never driven a 140 so I'm not able to comment, Stuart is a great guy. We are pleased to have been appointed his North American Dealer. KRL said:

Someone on the facebook group did the upgrade to the 175 from a 140 and said it was great. Revs through much faster with noticeably increased power over 3.5k and more gain over 5k.I must admit, I'm tempted when I'm sat in front of a computer, but whenever I go out and drive the car I always feel it's got enough power as it is.

In my experience the power issue is a drug. People here in north America appear addicted to HP, but in the end how much is enough. I would wholeheartedly agree with you once you get behind the wheel regardless of how much power it has the Caterham is the best fun you can have with your trousers on.I must admit, I'm tempted when I'm sat in front of a computer, but whenever I go out and drive the car I always feel it's got enough power as it is.

So almost 7k. Wow!
I wonder how much value, if any, it would add to the car?
Probably not 7k. I wonder how much value, if any, it would add to the car?
I would agree if your talking about just power and money, but as I understand it the 7 is is also about weight. Stuart did tell me and if my memory serves me I seem to remember that the F175 sigma when fitted with the light weight flywheel is 21 kg lighter than the Duretec. So I think even with the extra 15 hp that was mentioned it still wouldn't be as quick as the Sigma, not to forget the braking advantage with the Sigma
Well according to mharris it's 5.8k + VAT = 6,960, so yes almost 7k is right.
Perhaps that 7k is good value, however without knowing all the constituent parts we cannot say. Certainly in comparison to DVA Power for K-series modifications, whereby 135bhp -> 170bhp is £2.5k, PP come across as (v) expensive.
DVA POwer also have more 'stages' so upgrades can be done over time with the expense spread out. It's a pity Premier Power don't offer something like this. Or do they?

You can go to 150, 175 and 200 in stages. (If you already have a 140 they use your existing lightened flywheel too).I have to admit, I love the idea of a 175/200hp Sigma. I think a highly tuned 1.6 is more in keeping with what the 7 is about than a 2.0 with lots of torque. It certainly wouldn't add 7k of value to the car, but if you're keeping the car, I would probably add a lot of smiles .

The F155 upgrade is the biggest initial outlay.
Light weight Flywheel
Uprated clutch
Light weight alternator
Piper Cams
Throttle bodies
Cam wheels
Valve springs & retainers
ECU
My customer is already talking about the F175, which is now a fairly painless and straight forward job.
Exchange head & cams
Upload new map in ECU
The bulk of the work being done with the F155.

Hi All,
Interesting feed back here but I'd like to add a couple of points.
Premier Power upgrades adding value to your car: If you ask Caterham then no, all they want to sell are cars that are to their specifications. On the other hand if you speak to a reputable delaer like Seven & Classics they understand what the upgrades offer. To put this into context, My F200 Sigma car was valued by them 18 months ago at £32K. As far as they were concered it was offering 400bhp per ton and therefore fell into the R400 performance category. That said then an F175 upgrade should put a car in the R300 price bracket. We have had many enquiries from customers who have been to dealers, recommending us.
The upgrades are designed so that if customers want to upgrade their engine further in the future then as many parts as possible will carry over to the next level. Although this isn't the cheapest way of reaching the end goal, some choose to do it this way.
There are alot of opinions on here from people who I doubt have had the opportunity to sample these upgrades. I would however like to invite anyone interested to get in touch and arrange a demo drive so you can at least appreciate what you're commenting on.
