Trip to Portofino?

All being well we should arrive in Portofino this Sunday, any tips for places to go nearby?
Is it worth taking the 7 into the village or should I park up and taxi in?

There's not a massive amount to see there and parking is limited. I'd also take a trip to Santa Margherita just a little up the coast where there is more choice for lunch too.

wow we (lotus 7 club italia) organize a Portofino meeting every year.


portofino is tiny and you can't drive in the town. there is a big garage at the end of the road just before entering the town.
you can drive there (the 2km road from santa margherita ligure to portofino is very nice) and park there.

as suggested before, also santa margherita ligure is worth a visit.
also a walk along the promenade and downtown in rapallo.

if you want to drive a bit I suggest to visit "le cinque terre", about 50km from portofino. avoid the highway you can drive on "passo del bracco" from sestri levante, then drive to levanto and follow the panoramic small road up to Riomaggiore. I suggest to visit at least Monterosso al mare and manarola.

i believe that in this season you will find plenty of parking everywhere.

No that's in Portifino, as if driving up from the harbour, (no entry bollards behind car, and exit from car park to the right)
