Anyone know where to get the black Lifeline steering wheel boss supplied with cars from Caterham?

I've bought another wheel, of a different size/shape and need another boss. I bought a Lifeline Formula boss from DT, which looks the same, apart from being gold in colour but it turns out that the large spline is 180 degrees opposite to where the one is in the black boss.

On the Caterham store the boss is shown c/w the upper steering column but OOS.

( I know I could drill the wheel accordingly, but it's already drilled to suit the black boss)

Thanks for responding.

I'm in Norfolk but I'd happily pay postage. What sort of condition is it, and just to be sure where is the big spline, next to a mounting hole or between two. What do you think it's worth?

I'm Taking my mother home to Lowestoft on the 12th, so I could meet up with you if you don't mind waiting a bit. Not sure what its work really, as the Lifeline ones wear on the splines and this has has some wear. The locating part lines up with the bolt hole and is not in-between the holes.

Thanks Geoff that would work but I know what you mean about the wear, my lifeline is a few months old and already showing signs.

Is the rapfix boss a direct replacement or did you have to replace the upper column?

Had to replace the upper column, which is straightforward enough. PCD is the same as the lifeline unit so steering wheels can be swapped over. Rapfix system sits the steering wheel a little closer to you, but the build quality is very good. Downside is the £260 ish quid to buy. I found by using a finger from a nitrile glove made the lifeline unit nice and tight again.

Yes, I was aware of that but I already have one wheel, that has an original Caterham black Lifeline boss, that my son prefers to the smaller wheel that I use. (With the one, I can't see the shift lights and with the other he can't see the speedo!)

In the end I bought a black boss c/w upper column for a Caterham from DT. It was only £30 more for the column which I now have as a spare, for what it's worth.
