Great news Nigel
Caterham phoned me out of the blue a few weeks ago to see if I wanted to buy #1 that they have for sale!
Cool!Caterham phoned me out of the blue a few weeks ago to see if I wanted to buy #1 that they have for sale!
And so why is it not sat in your garage/on your drive right now then?

Hmmm.......there are a couple of lovely early R500's for sale on here!
Agreed buddy! If I did not have my twenty almost ready, I would have bought this!

However I can't run to that type of cash right now, so I will stick with my little twenty!
This is the one that caught my eye....

Although I do like the idea of a more recent Supersport R type affair....

Yes I noticed that R500 k series too, lovely looking thing! http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/c...

But then I would say that, as its in the same mango colour scheme as my previous R400 k series!
Seems a bit pricy though, considering its age.!,
Still I am sure someone will buy it as is, the miles and usage is just so low!
I seem to remember a Mango R500 was almost by me instead of my blue R400, a learned friend advised go for the R400 as it has 90% of the performance without the possible rebuild saga of the R500.
Turned out my R400 went every bit as well as an R500 so win win (I must have got a very good and well sorted car!).
Before the R400 I drove a fantastic red Superlight R.......so very nearly bought that car.

Young David sold me my last couple of Caterhams, thoroughly nice chap and now one of the old guard
Indeed, he has been so very helpful and supportive, can't thank him enough for everything he has done for me and the rest of the group of Superlight Twenty owners too! L100NYY said:
My first two or three I dealt with Jason Sutherland who was very good too and then latterly with David. Great experiences all round.
It's a shame lots of staff have changed, but that's the nature of business.I dealt with Nick Potter at CC mids, for the last 10 plus years, and was always looked after my Nick and his team.
The business model.changed and cc mids was no more, but I am an old school fuddy duddy, and like to deal with people, especially people who treat me with courtesy and respect as a long standing customer!

Oh I hadn't heard about that, they closed? Did Oakmere take over from them?
Not sure what the exact agreement was.Cc mids was closed, and Oakmere and Willams autos were made new dealers.
However since then BaT bookatrack at Donington have also been apointed as a new Motorsport dealer, for sales and support of Caterham, as well as running the track and drift days for cc too!

Have you got his email address? Would love to get a few pics of mine sent up, it's in production in 5 weeks and Jordan said that it may be ready for road testing in April. When is yours being delivered?
I got his email address from Jordan, I am sure if you ask her she will get it for you!As you know they do not like to give committed delivery dates, until the car of kit is 99% ready to ship.
However they have told me to expect 6 weeks from start of production to delivery, so that means approx 2nd week in March.
Is yours going to be a kit , or factory built?
