Coolant querie

Hi!
I know I know it's a 1.6 K-series so it must be an airlock...
After changing, hoses (to silicone), stat and coolant, the car developed a strange thing, to me that is. After an overnight cooling off, when I take off the expansion tank cap to level the coolant, air comes out from said tank... What is this?
Gauge reads normal temps, fan kicks in and, there is no heater.
Any educated guesses?
