K series camshaft seal replacement
Discussion
The front exhaust camshaft seal has developed a slight leak; can this be replaced without disturbing the camshaft?
Secondly, is there a problem with the Piper branded vernier pulleys? The red anodised finish on mine is wearing away and I have a vague memory of other folk having a similar problem.
And finally; are there any problems with aftermarket coolant pumps – are they as good as the originals?
Thanks in advance, Graham

You don't need to disturb the cam, but you do need to remove the pulley. Later Piper pulleys are hard black anodised on the outer pulley and this is extremely durable, earlier ones with coloured anodising can wear. Not all water pumps are created equal, ensure the pump you buy has a metal impeller and an evaporation chamber at the position of the lower pillar bolt.
