Ultimate Seven Product
Discussion
If you look here https://www.goodwood.com/grrc/columnists/mystery-m... you'll see that Graham MacDonald talks about an Ultimate Seven Product that their engineers are giddy about which Caterham are about to announce. Anyone know what it is?

Brilliant!Let's see... They've had a bike, a motorbike, the Aero7, an F1 car, and a Renault Alpine thingy which all didn't last long. A trike?
Perhaps it's Caterham's answer to the Ariel Nomad?
A full electric Caterham with a 200+ mile blatting range would be a very interesting thing, but probably way too out-of-the-box for Caterham.
Interesting that CC chose to use the Goodwood platform for an information release!
They did the same with the Goodwood revival last year when they announced the Superlight Twenty model that I ordered.
So I think i can have a pretty good geuss as to what the news that Graham is teasing about!

Whatever it is, please don't let it be abit sh*t (again... Aero7, Caterham Bikes, CaterhamF1 etc etc) other than different 7's the last "good" thing they did (IMVHO) was the 21!
I don't know what it will be, but it won't be something pants, that's for sure. And as the article says, it is focuses on the Seven, so look for exciting stuff around the Seven!!

This.
The Reynolds butted tubing project has been in the public domain for some time though, so it would hardly be a new announcement? At the NVN Symposium earlier this year, they were talking about it as a potential £1-£2K pricing option and envisaged about 20% customer uptake.
They could always do a carbon tub with a proper racing transaxle; they'd only be about 17 years too late.

20% uptakes seems extremely optimistic - I thought the weight saving was only small (7kg?) and while weight saving is a GOOD THING I can't see many paying that much for such a modest saving. Sounds like carbon fibre nose and wings would be at least as cost effective. You could, of course, not paint the car and save yourself a similar amount of weight as well as over £1000.At the NVN Symposium earlier this year, they were talking about it as a potential £1-£2K pricing option and envisaged about 20% customer uptake.
