I gather it may be possible to fit a Caterham inside a Citroen Relay panel van - the rear aperture is (just) large enough, it seems.....

has anyone done this? do you need the lwb version? Might be better than my trailer, esp for winter storage.....

I can confirm that a 7 fits in a Luton Transit, so if that's comparable to a Citroen Relay you should be OK.

McMillan motorsport have done it (fiat model but believe it's the same base van) still required a little bit of altering to fit it with the rear arches attached but very minor

I've seen an MK Indy and Westfield loaded (separately) into the back of a van for transportation to Holland. They were put in at a 45 degree angle so they would fit, but I'm not sure this is what you are after! I'm stuffed if I can find the photos though.

thanks folks. And after some more reading it does seem that they fit, without needing to remove rear wheel arches, inside a Citroen Relay/Fiat Ducato/Peugot Boxer, as long as you make a false floor/ramp to go up over the van's internal wheel arches.

Interesting...... good for storage and secure transport, for the same price as a decent trailer.....

(and a van for those odd jobs too :-))

I used an Iveco when I competed in Academy in 2010. Needed to take the arches off originally but then I modified the rear aperture so it would go in without having to do this. It worked really well, much easier than a trailer and provided storage too. Recommend fitting an electric winch if you do go down this route though as this also made it simpler and safer to get the car in/out when on your own.
