Hi Guys, good discussion. What castor setting would be a good starting point and what would change if moved to the one or other direction? Cheers Volker
Good point...
I was thinking about increasing close to 5degrees to help the low speed cornering but need to check the actual geo first to see where i am at.

Castor increases camber when cornering and steering feel.

The caster is set by the washers on the lower whisbone and the maximiun is set when all the washers are at the rear of the bushes (wishbone moved forward). How these relate to the actual figure is probably not too important and there are differences between the S3 and S5 (SV) chassis.

Many track cars are set to the maximum caster as it provides the biggest feedback, and the most 'catch-able' handling. But the steering becomes heavy when not at the limit, and may not suite everyone, particuarly for road use. For mountain roads I'd go for a high, but maybe not the maximum setting. You should also be aware that camber and caster interchange as the lock increases.
