Bought a new 620R, every touch point with Caterham South has been rubbish!
Is this normal or just me?

From my experience it's not just south. I've heard bad things about the midlands lot too, customer service seems pretty low down the list of priorities. Just slightly above wiring the car up properly wink

Not the experience I have had with Caterham South . Always excellent service from Dan Piper and his team .

They were so bad in 1990 that I bought a Westfield. I hated the salesman so much, it took 20 years for me to go back.

Luckily in 2010, they had a much nicer chap called Dominic and I actually enjoyed buying my Roadsport.

Once you're clear of the warranty, find a good independent for servicing or DIY like I do.

The 'Midlands Lot ' are no more; I certainly found that their customer service could be ...hmm.. 'variable', ranging from helpful and expert to absolutely shabby don't give a f***k . But please be aware that the Midlands outlet is at Donington now , with Bookatrack . Lovely showroom(have seen that for myself) and far more helpful people , or so my spies report.

As with all organisations there will be good and bad people leading to good and bad experiences.

So far however, I am yet to have a good experience and it amazes me that they are still in business.

But, spare a thought for those few people who have probably worked tirelessly within Caterham for a long time, know the problems, want to change things for the better, but are completely ignored and under appreciated.

I found Caterham south to be excellent when my 620R was getting built. They were sending photos through during the build and went out their way to have it delivered before I went away to work for a month. Very different experience from you OP. Jordan was my point of contact. After a truly horrible time dealing with Audi over issues on the RS4 Caterham were very refreshing

Thought service from Caterham south was excellent. Have been buying parts from them and they have had to ship overseas to me. Never been an issue always fast delivery and sales process.

Bought my kit from midlands, just before they closed but had no problems during the buying process.

Service the car myself but have needed help from Crawley a couple of times with warranty and upgrades and they've been fine too.

For me the key is to get the right contacts and go direct to them.
